Choose one of the following projects. You may choose to update it to contemporary time.
1. Create an alternative ending to the play. You are to keep all of the same characters from the play (though you
can add one or two if you would like). Requirements:
You will need to act out the scene in front of your class

3. Create a talk-show. The talk show host should interview Jason and Medea about the situation. It can follow
the format of Jerry Springer, David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon etc. Requirements:
You will need to act out the interview in front of your class

read by the class. This differs from number one as you will just produce a script that will be shared with the
class.
Requirements:
You will need to create an ending that takes 5-10 minutes to read
You will need a PowerPoint of images to be played alongside of the reading
You will present why you chose the ending you did after the class has read it
out loud.
Write and perform a news report. This can cover the action of the play or specific parts of the action such
as the deaths of Medea’s children, Creon and Glauce.
Requirements: You will need to act out the news report in front of your class

Rubric
__________15 points performance (or powerpoint slides option #4) is focused, volume and articulation is
clear and expressive
__________5 points blocking is appropriate for scene . There is movement that includes entrance and exits
when necessary. Back is not turned to audience when speaking.
__________15 pts. Script reveals excellent knowledge of character and plot. The script is typed or very neatly
written in ink (NOT PENCIL) Should be at least 2-3 pages or 5 minutes long.
__________5 points for costume suggestion. If set in ancient Greece, a toga or long dress will serve the
requirement. Newscaster/reporters should have tie or suit jacket. Maybe reading glasses. Wear whatever is
appropriate for your setting if set in suburbia, inner-city, the coast of France, New York, etc.
