Regarding the QUAL-QUAN ‘divide’: Although
quantitative research has underpinnings in
positivism, it can be very much grounded in
theoretical perspectives such as feminism,
critical theory, and post-colonialism

in lived experience, it can also be ‘positivist’

In other words, the quantitative/qualitative
dichotomy requires deeper scrutiny
