Warrior Lady Character Analysis
The character of the lady warrior Herculesa is a very strong character in
the play. This is mainly due to the hard experiences she had gone through during
her childhood. When Herculesa was still young, she had to endure the tragedy of
her dear mother’s death. Because of this, Herculesa matured early on in her life
in order to take care of her grieving father and her younger sister Tulip. Soon
after, her country, Lala Land, was attacked by its neighboring country Modror
Land, to be able to go to war to defend his country, Herculesa’s father decided to
remarry so that his girls could have a mother to take care of them while he was
gone. The woman he married also had a daughter and for the month their father
stayed before leaving to war, the stepmother and her daughter were incredibly
nice and kind. Unfortunately, shortly after the father’s departure both mother
and daughter showed their true colors and treated the two sisters cruelly. This
treatment only got worse once the news of the Herculesa’s father’s death
reached them. Such a hard childhood taught Herculesa and her sister to be
strong and brave in the face of hardship. Another consequence of her
stepmother’s negligence was that there was no one to protect Herculesa and her
sister from the dangers of wartime. As a result, Helculesa took it upon herself to
learn the arts of swordsmanship in order to protect her sister. All these
circumstances contributed greatly to Herculesa’s development into a brave and
powerful lady.
In the beginning of the play, Herculesa is living in a village in Lala Land
with her younger sister Tulip and her evil stepmother. Tragedy strikes again
when Tulip is kidnapped by the witch Eesma. In order to save her sister,
Herculesa goes to the wise monk lady Miyagiya who informs her about the
whereabouts of Eesma. Thus Herculesa embarks on her journey to save her
sister. During this adventure, she meets Tahini a fellow brave hero and Alexa an
intelligent nerd girl. They both help Herculesa on her quest. In the end, she
manages to save her sister and they all live happily ever after.

While acting this role, I have learned to utilize the remembering level of
Bloom’s Taxonomy in order to memorize my lines. Moreover, I learned to use the
understanding level by trying to understand my character and how she is
suppose to behave. I also had to apply that understanding in my acting and so I
got to practice the applying level. During rehearsals, I spent my free time
analyzing other girls’ acting to pick up some techniques and tips from them. As
for the evaluating level, I also used it during rehearsals by watching my fellow
actresses and critiquing their acting in the hopes of improving the quality of the
overall production.
Another way I contributed to this play was by writing the script with the
help of some of the other girls. I benefitted from the remembering skill because it
helped me to write the script by using expressions and words from my memory.
I also used the understanding level while writing the script, for I had to fully
comprehend the storyline we had planned in order to write the script that would
do it justice. In addition, I learned to use the analyzing level in my writing, for I
had to write a story that was consistent with the personality of every character.
Finally, writing the script in itself was the epitome of creativity. Thus by making
this play I have used all of the levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy.
