Let’s create the Name Game!
What is the Name Game? The name game is a game that you will create using the letters in your name. Each
letter will become a “sprite” that you develop and give movement, sound and other special effects using
Scratch. The instructions for creating the sprite are on the MIT Scratch website (Name Game). You can use
existing games and tweak them so that they become yours, or you can create one from “scratch”!
Below is the rubric that will be used to grade the “Name Game” project that you will create using SCRATCH
programming. Please read it carefully before you begin working on this project. The project is due on Monday,
May 19, 2014 by the end of 5th period, therefore concentrate and work smart!
Method for evaluating the “Name Game”:
Peer Evaluation, Self-Reflection/Evaluation, Instructor Evaluation
First, complete your “Name Game” project. Once you have completed the game, please give this rubric to
someone in the class that you would like to test your game. Have that person complete the rubric. They have
to sign that they completed the rubric and you have to sign as well. (A space for signatures is provided at the
bottom of each rubric.)
A sample of the Rubrics you will use for for the person you select to review and evaluate your game and your
personal rubric are provided below and will be placed online on the website for this class. All rubrics are to be
submitted to the instructor via email (spking@cps.edu) on or before the due date. If additional time is needed,
that will be determined by the instructor.

think about the work you have done and take a few moments to reflect on that work. What worked? What
didn’t work? What would you have done differently? Answer the questions and submit the document to your
