Frayer Model EXAMPLE
A membrane-bound sac in eukaryotic
cells that stores or transports the
products of metabolism in the cell and is
sometimes the site for the breaking down
of metabolic wastes.

VESICLE
A vesicle is like a mail truck because
it picks up materials and delivers
them somewhere else
OBJECTIVE

Cell Function Analogies
 With your neighbor, brainstorm possible analogies of how a cell
operates like a city for each of the organelles
 Write these down in your notebook to be able to use them for
homework!
 You should be drawing/writing the Frayer models directly into your
notebook! You will need them for class tomorrow.

 IN ADDITION to working on the essay (paragraph of how a
protein is made), you are to ALSO complete any missing
assignments!

Complete the pre-lab questions

• Complete any unfinished work (cell lab
analysis questions, missing hw, etc)

components by creating wet
mount slides from different
organisms.

Progress Reports
 Progress reports will go out AT THE END OF THE DAY
 Look at the missing work box, and make sure you complete
the assignments over the weekend
 Some assignments were done in your notebook AFTER
notebook checks, and I am aware of that. I put it on the
progress report so you know it should be completed by this
point.
