The Lady Vengeance Softball Organization
Player and Parent Contract (14U/16U/18U Teams)
To provide our players with the best possible chance to succeed in the sport of softball, the coaching
staff requires all players and parents to abide by the conditions set forth in this document. These guidelines
were written to ensure team unity and sportsmanship. By signing this document, you are accepting the
terms as written.
It is our goal to teach our players to compete at the highest levels of tournament play while still
retaining the consummate sportsmen. It takes a team to compete at this level and no one person is bigger
than the team. We will all do what is best for the team even if it means making a personal sacrifice. It is
very important that you understand that the coaches will not show any favoritism and all players will be
treated equal. Listed below are the standards and ideals that we will play by.
 Team – We expect all players to support one another and always remain positive. No player or
parent will criticize another player. The only criticism will be constructive and from the coaching
staff. We want all players to interact with one another “To be a family as well as a team!” When
you are a member of The Lady Vengeance you will not be permitted to play for another travel
softball team.
 Playing Time – Playing time will not be evenly divided. This is not a “summer league team.” We
will play the players who give our team the best chance to succeed for that game. If it is possible to
get all the players in, we will but it is not guaranteed. Playing time will be determined by: ability,
effort, attitude, attendance, and hustle. If you wish to know why you may not be getting as much
playing time, ask. Some players will be situational and others are difficult to play without. TEAM
FIRST! There will be a 24HR window where parents CANNOT discuss anything with the coaches
and vice versa. (Cool Down Period!)
 Attitude- Attitude is one of the most important and unteachable aspects of the game, having a great
attitude will help you achieve all of your goals. We expect all girls to have a positive attitude and
not get too high when we succeed or too low when we fail.
 Sportsmanship- We will always be the most respectable team in the tournament. We will not taunt
or cheer against the opposition. Our standards will not be lowered by the actions of the other team
or opposing fans. Umpires will be treated with respect and courtesy. Bad calls will not change if
you berate an umpire! Let the coaches handle that situation. It is ok to show emotion and passion
for the game but a hostile umpire will affect the outcome of our game(s). Most of the umpires that
we will have will follow us to other tournaments. Don’t make it too hard for us to get a call. We try
to “work” the umpires when possible.
 Money- Any monies received will be considered a donation to the The Lady Vengeance
Organization. Therefore any money left in a player’s account at the end of the season for any reason
will remain in the Teams account. A $150 deposit is required to be returned with this contract to
secure your place on the team. Due to being a Non-Profit Organization, no monies will be refunded
for any reason for we are unable to by law.

 Fundraising & Sponsors - We will ask each player/family to acquire as many sponsors as they can.
$10 from each sponsor will be used to make the team’s banner in April but all the rest of money will
be applied to the players registration fees (example: $200 Sponsor, $190 comes off the fees).
Fundraising will be made available in either a group fundraiser (Whole Organization or Team) or
individual fundraisers. For a group fundraiser (Cash Bash, Bingo, Car Wash, etc…), the profit
generated will be split evenly among all of the participating players/families and deducted from the
registration fees. You must participate in order to receive any money applied. For individual
fundraisers (Market Day, Sub Sale, Candy Bars, etc…), the profit generated from your individual
sales will be deducted from your registration fees. With the exception of a Cash Bash and/or Bingo,
each team will be responsible for coming up with their own fundraisers. We will also do either a
monthly or bi-monthly ticket where half the money from each ticket goes to the winners and the
other half comes off of your fees.
 Practice- Everyone knows that it takes practice to develop and prepare players in effort to compete
at the highest level and be successful. We are asking that each family make The Lady Vengeance
their #1 priority for the 2014/2015 season not only for games but also for practices. We play the
way we practice. Our coaches work hard at each and every practice, teaching and showing each
player different skills and situations that may occur during a game. Practices are MANDATORY
not OPTIONAL! In addition to our weekly practices, each player will be ask to also practice at
home. Each instructor (Pitching, batting, agility) along with our coaches will give at home drills to
help with the training and conditioning of the athletes. We strongly advise that these drills as done
as instructed. It takes more than 1 to 2 practices a week to be successful and we ask the parents to
assist as well as remind our athletes to do their at home work.
 Attendance- We all know the importance of being at every practice and being on time. We also
know that there are circumstances and situations that sometimes will not allow this. We will run a
strict schedule on allowable absences and unexcused absences and keep an attendance log. You
must notify a member of the coaching staff (not another player or parent) if an absence or tardiness
will occur at least 30 minutes prior to the start time of the practice and/or game. Allowable
absences include: School Sport/Activity, Illness, Family Function (with prior notification), etc…
You are not permitted to miss for a summer league or rec ball team. Lastly, PLEASE be on time. If
practice or pre-game warm starts at 6:30 PM, that means we are there ready to go at 6:30 PM, not
arriving and getting ready after that. We only have so much time to practice or warm up so we
cannot afford to wait 15 to 20 minutes for everyone to be ready. Practice will start without you.
 Tournaments- We host a fall tournament and another in the summer every year which we do expect
our teams to participate in. In addition each team plans to attend 1 to 2 fall tournaments 1 to 2
indoor winter tournaments & 5-8 spring / summer tournaments for a total of 10-12 tournaments. By
hosting our summer tournament, each team is qualified to attend the USSSA World Series to end the
season. There are a few locations for each age group and which one is selected is up to the coaching
staff for each team. We enter our tournaments early and therefore will provide a schedule in
advance to make sure the parents have adequate time to make arrangements. There may also be a
tournament or scrimmage that pops up and we would like to attend. The coaching staff will inform
you of these tournaments and would ask that you please make every effort to let us know as soon as
possible if you will be able to attend. Any expenses for scrimmages or additional tournaments (i.e.
umpire fees, field rental, registration fees, etc…) are not included in the budget and will be an out of
pocket expense for the team. Lastly, the Pre-game warm-ups, during the game, & post-game
conferences are for players and coaches only. No parents, siblings, and/or friends will be
permitted unless otherwise asked to be there by a member of the coaching staff.
 Equipment- The Lady Vengeance Organization will provide each player with a New Helmet, two
complete uniforms, and Softball Bag. All other equipment needed will be the responsibility of the
family. There is many other pieces of equipment essential to this game, those include: Fielding
Glove, Bat, Sliding Shorts or Pad, Spiked Shoes, Catchers Equipment & Fielding Mask and/or
Mouth Guard. All bats must have the NEW approved USSSA stamp on them. If it does not, it will
not be permitted to be used during USSSA Tournaments. Any questions on any piece of equipment
or recommendations needed please see a member of the coaching staff.
