Kosovo's investment opportunities presented in Washington Washington September 25, 2012 - Kosovo's investment opportunities and potentials were presented to the US companies in the Investment Conference in Washington DC. The Conference was organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo in cooperation with Investment Promotion Agency of Kosovo, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Economic Development, Kosovo's Embassy in Washington DC and US Chamber of Commerce in Washington. US Companies had the opportunity to learn about the progress that Kosovo has marked in the doing business environment as well as the upcoming privatization and public-private partnership projects, which might be of interest for the foreign investors. Present at the conference were also representatives of major US and global institutions, including trade and commercial officials of the US State Department, representatives of Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), International Financial Corporation, World Bank, and so on. The Conference was addressed by Kosovo's Deputy Ambassador Jetish Jashari, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Industry Mimoza Kusari Lila, Minister of Economic Development, Besim Beqaj, and the President of Board of Governors of Amcham Kosovo Erolld Belegu. Executive Director of AmCham Kosovo presented the latest study Case for Investing in Kosovo which shows that despite the global financial crisis Kosovo's private sector companies have grown for 29 percent in terms and turnover. The Chief Executive Officer of IPAK Valdrin Llula presented the major investment potentials of Kosovo, whereas Kosovo Privatizatin Agency director Shkelzen Llluka and the representative of Public Private Partnership Unit Lorik Fejzullahu presented the upcoming privatization and public private partnership projects. Secretary General of AmCham Board of Directors Dastid Pallaska presented the investor protection mechanisms of Kosovo. And finally the CEO of the American company Emberclear Nick Cohen shared with other American companies his experience from investing in Kosovo.
