Biography Bottle Report ***DUE: Monday, February 22, 2016*** You will be creating a biography bottle and making a presentation. You will be choosing from a list of historical figures you are learning about in fourth grade. You will need to read a biography from the library and/or do additional research to find your information. Several excellent, safe websites are available on our class website under “Mrs. Gallagher’s Links”. We will be able to do some research in class. You will need the following supplies for the bottle: A 2-liter bottle for the body of your famous person, a Styrofoam ball for the head, and art supplies such as yarn, paint, and paper to create a likeness of the person. In order to create your likeness you will need to follow these steps: 1st you need to use a round object to create a head on top of your bottle. 2nd you must dress your bottle to look as if it were the person you read about. 3rd you will create a face and hair or hat or glasses, anything your famous person was known for: for example Benjamin Franklin was known for his glasses. **TIP: Be sure to add sand or dried rice to the bottle to prevent it from tipping! You will need to provide the following information about your famous person in a PRESENTATION to the class. Fill in the attached note page to help you, but do not turn that in as your final project! Birth date and birthplace The most notable thing this person is famous for Early life, before becoming famous The education received Occupation Date & location of death How has the world benefited from him/her? What are some other facts we should know about him/her? Why did you choose this person? How were you inspired by him/her? **You will present your information orally. Either write or type the information in your own words on notecards or paper, or provide a PowerPoint presentation (on a thumb drive, a cd, or via email to robyn.gallagher@nn.k12.va.us). You must turn in something with your bottle with the above information from your research! **Be sure to include where you found your information!
