Installation of four new video boards, LED court lighting & new sound system. • Return to a traditional 14-day Grand Slam schedule with the women’s semis on Thursday, men’s semis on Friday and a true Finals Weekend. • ESPN takes over as the exclusive domestic broadcast partner. Fans can follow the action on TV on ESPN and ESPN2 and via daylong live streaming of all TV courts on ESPN3 and the Watch ESPN app. • For 2016: Arthur Ashe Stadium roof complete and operational; new Grandstand stadium debuts; 10 rebuilt field courts; south campus expanded to improve traffic flow on the grounds. The widened walkways will connect Court 17 to the new Grandstand. What’s New at the 2015 US Open • US Open American Express Fan Experience – completely new with interactive elements for tennis fans of all ages. Check out “You vs. Sharapova” virtual reality challenge • Charging Stations presented by Chase throughout the grounds • Nightly Light Show – highlighting the steel truss and catwalk system surrounding AA Stadium, light show to take place between the two evening matches • Original Nine – celebrating the “Original Nine” women responsible for creating professional women’s tennis and ultimately the WTA as it is known today. Check in at the USTA Membership Booth USTA Foundation Mission: The USTA Foundation brings tennis and education together to change lives for under-resourced children, wounded military heroes and individuals with disabilities. Volunteer responsibilities include: • Raising money by selling pavers on the Avenue of Aces • Promoting and increasing awareness of the USTA Foundation and its mission • Assisting with Foundation events and initiatives during the US Open Check in at Foundation Booth located in front of Court 10 (South Plaza) USTA FOUNDATION AVENUE OF ACES USTA Foundation AREAS OF FOCUS USTA Bookstore Volunteer responsibilities include: • Selling tennis books, posters, DVDs and postcards • Assisting with book-signings (schedule TBA) • Special member offer on Membership Appreciation Weekend: 2016 US Open Wall Calendar (reg $14.99) plus 2015 US Open Souvenir Program (reg $20) for a combined discounted price of $25 Check in at the USTA Bookstore at the Indoor Training Center Subscriber Central • Located in the US Open of Tomorrow space, it is a hub for US Open Subscribers to learn about the future of the US Open through photos, maps and detailed descriptions of what’s to come in the transformation of the BJK NTC • Subscribers are guests who have tickets to the full US Open tournament • Subscribers can enter daily prize drawings by checking in at the desk inside. The desk will be manned by USTA Staff • The space is open to the public; however daily prize drawings only available to those who show their Subscriber Card Subscriber Card and Lanyard Example Subscriber Central Volunteer responsibilities include: • • • • Greeting visitors at the door and inside the space Directing them to the Subscriber check-in registration desk Answering questions about the space, amenities and directions around the grounds Assisting guests in submitting questions to Customer Service for anything you or the staff cannot answer Check in at the US Open of Tomorrow space in Arthur Ashe Stadium Hours of Operation: 10AM – 8PM Daily, except 9/2, 9/3, 9/8 and 9/9 when it will be closed for a private Subscriber event from 5-7PM. Subscriber Central US Open of Tomorrow Space Exterior US Open of Tomorrow Space Interior Corporate Hospitality Photo Op • • Location 1 is Arthur Ashe Mezzanine Level A “blue” carpet photo op experience for Luxury Suite guests on the mezzanine level of Arthur Ashe Stadium • • Location 2 is Hospitality Pavilion A “blue” carpet photo op experience for Corporate Hospitality guests in the lobby of the Chase Center Hospitality Pavilion Corporate Hospitality Photo Op Volunteer responsibilities include: • • Greeting guests at the photo op & helping them sign up for rewards Using provided DLR cameras to capture photos for guests (additional training provided) • Answering questions about the space, amenities, and directions around the stadium and/or pavilion • Training on use of DLR cameras and location to report to will be provided for those volunteers assigned to these areas US Open Access • New fan enhancement available to all US Open guests allowing streamlined access to various activation points around the grounds • Guests can register once to participate in activities ranging from customized photo ops to interactive games, while personalizing their entire US Open experience with their own personal webpage • Opportunity to win tickets to 2016 US Open Women’s or Men’s Finals • Anyone can register to win by completing online, if not attending the Open How it works… • Log onto http://www.usopen.org/en_US/social/open_access/index.html • After registering, guests receive personalized QR codes and ID # that will be scanned at each onsite attraction/booth • No need to submit information multiple times at each location • The more places you check-in, the more chances you have to win an Ultimate US Open Prize Pack which includes apparel & tennis gear • Guests receive a personalized email with all their US Open photos/videos from the attractions/booths participated during your time at the 2015 US Open US Open Access FAQs • What are they going to do with my information? – • Who is eligible for the 2016 US Open Finals ticket sweepstakes? – • The only emails you will receive are your personalized QR code and unique ID, your photos/videos from your experience at the 2015 US Open. You can OPT OUT of receiving usopen.org newsletter, offers and product updates. If you Opt Out, you will not be contacted with any additional information. Residents of the United States can participate in the sweepstakes, all are welcome to sign up to receive US Open newsletters, etc. USTA employed staff are not eligible to win. How old do you have to be? – You can sign up if you are under 18 with an adult, and you will receive a personalized QR code. Where will US Open Access be located for tablet pick up? • US Open Access will be located in Armstrong Stadium, entrance under championship brackets (draw boards) in the space previously occupied by LG. (across from the Octagon) • Volunteers will check in to receive their tablets and then roam the grounds encouraging guests to sign up on site to take advantage of the offerings and sweepstakes. • Any problems with equipment or questions can be directed to USTA staff manning the US Open Access area. You may choose to wear the provided 2015 US Open cap as well if you wish • Footwear: Closed toe shoes are recommended, sneakers or shoes are acceptable. Many of the volunteer positions require much time standing, so please wear comfortable but sturdy footwear. NOTE: The orange shirt/cap color are new this year. Returning volunteers will NOT be able to wear previous year shirts.
