He has been writing since the age of eight, and professionally since the age of twenty. He writes in a comfortable shed in his garden for up to ten hours per day. In addition to the highly successful Alex Rider books, he has also written episodes of several popular TV crime series, including Poirot, Murder in Mind, Midsomer Murders and Murder Most Horrid. He has written a television series Foyle's War, which recently aired in the United States, and he has written the libretto of a Broadway musical adapted from Dr. Seuss's book, The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T. His film script The Gathering has just finished production. And…oh yes…there are more Alex Rider novels in the works. Anthony has also written the Diamond Brothers series. has written several critically acclaimed and award-winning books such as THIS LULLABY, THAT SUMMER, SOMEONE LIKE YOU and KEEPING THE MOON. Her latest effort, Along for the Ride, contains the same trademark poignancy, wisdom and honesty that struck a chord with her young adult audience. In this interview, Dessen discusses the insecurities everyone experiences in adolescence and what she hopes her readers will take away from this novel. She also talks about her eclectic tastes in music and the book that ignited her passion for writing Erin Hunter is actually three people: Victoria Holmes comes up with the storylines and makes sure the books stay consistent and writers Kate Cary and Cherith Baldry, who both live in the UK, take it in turns to write the books. They say that they have always loved cats and fantasy stories and came up with the single name, Erin Hunter, to avoid confusing their readers by having books from the same series filed in different places on the bookshelves. Kate is fascinated by animal interaction and the way you can read all sorts of hidden motivation into what cats do. She's also not afraid of describing the goriest scenes! . Cherith Baldry loves to write Warriors so that she can imagine a cat's eye view of the world. She is also particularly interested in King Arthur. Epic battles, courtly code of behaviors, and knights are all themes very predominant in Warriors. Vicky was brought up on a farm and loves all animals. She acknowledges that teaming up with Kate and Cherith on the Warriors books is an unconventional way of working but, "We love writing the books together and it means we can produce them much faster than a single author could. We each have our favorite characters and ideas for what could happen next, which means the stories have three times as much energy and passion!" Catherine Jinks is the Australian author of more than thirty books for all ages. She has garnered many awards, including the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Award (three times), the Victorian Premier’s Award, the Aurealis Award for Science Fiction, the Australian Ibby Award, and the Davitt Award for Crime Fiction. Her work has been published in Australia, New Zealand, Britain, the United States, Germany, Spain, France, Portugal, Poland and Russia. Catherine was born in Brisbane, Queensland, in 1963. She grew up in Papua New Guinea, where her father worked as a patrol officer. Her highschool years were spent in Sydney, NSW; in 2006, her alma mater, Kuring-gai High School, named its library after her. is for Catherine Jinks James Patterson http://www.jamespatterson.com/books_max.html James Patterson is the only author to occupy the #1 slot on the New York Times Adult Fiction and Children's Chapter Book bestsellers lists SIMULTANEOUSLY! Patterson is also the only author to have THREE simultaneous HARDCOVER bestsellers on the New York Times Adult Fiction and Children's Chapter Book bestsellers lists! Patterson has occupied a slot on every single fiction bestsellers list the New York Times prints—and on the hardcover nonfiction list too. I have written three sets of books for young adults. The first is called Midnighters, a tale of five teenagers born on the stroke of midnight, for whom time freezes every night, revealing a dark and terrible hidden world. All three books are out now. My other trilogy is Uglies, set in a future where cosmetic surgery is compulsory when you turn 16, making everyone beautiful. Of course, there are some people who want to keep their own faces . . . but they're not allowed. All three books—Uglies, Pretties and Specials—are out now. A companion novel to the trilogy, Extras, came out in October 2007. Stephenie Meyer I was born in Connecticut in 1973, during a brief blip in my family's otherwise western U.S. existence. We were settled in Phoenix by the time I was four, and I think of myself as a native. The unusual spelling of my name was a gift from my father, Stephen (+ ie = me). Though I have had my name spelled wrong on pretty much everything my entire life long, I must admit that it makes it easier to google myself now. http://www.teenreads.com/authors/au-meyerstephenie.asp Audio Versions Cassette CD PlayAway (iPod like) Includes batteries Earbuds or they work with your own Check out the book and the audio together Magazines Yes, You Can Check Them Out!
