Year 5 Homework Grid - Term 5 2015 – due each Thursday (the first one is due April 23rd )
Choose two pieces of homework per week. One must be eLearning. Record your work in your home-learning book. Remember to neatly fill in the Digital Learning grid too.
Over this term you’ll do 1 or 2 Literacy, 1 or 2 Numeracy and 2 Other / CC from the grid (a total of 5) as well as 5 pieces of digital learning. Ask your family for help if needed.

Send a postcard to school from a
place you visit during the
weekend. Are you having fun?
Find one item on every aisle of
the supermarket. List them all
and calculate the grand total.
Design a poster encouraging Year 5s to
be a friend to nature. How could you
persuade them to care more?

See how many words you can
make from letters in the name of
your favourite breakfast cereal.
For example:
Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Cornflakes
OR
Banana Weetabix Crispy Minis.
Keep trying hard to learn all your
times tables and division facts.
Make a set of ‘local’ animal Top Trumps
cards. You can decide on the categories
and ‘scores’ based on their
characteristics.
You’ll also need to include a picture of
each creature on the card to help people
identify them around our town.

Write a poem all about West
Park, in Long Eaton, and some of
the things that you can do there.
A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, D = 4, E = 5 …
etc.

Get a maths challenge sheet off
your teacher. Try to complete it
on your own, if you can.

Create an award, medal or certificate
that could be given to someone, in the
community, for being kind to nature.
Ideas include:
 Looking after a particular animal
 Saving some woodlands
 Encouraging birds to visit
 Building a pond for frogs etc.
