IAP2 Canada is offering 3 National Awards:
Canadian Project of the Year Award
Canadian Organization of the Year Award
Canadian Research Project of the Year Award

Which will move on to compete internationally at the IAP2 Federation Core
Values Awards.
PROJECT AWARDS 2015
In 2015, IAP2 Canada is offering 4 Project Category Awards:
(from which the winner of Project of the Year will be chosen)
• Creativity, Contribution and Innovation in the Field
• Indigenous Engagement
• Respect for Diversity, Inclusion and Culture
• P2 for the Greater Good
.
PROJECT AWARD CATEGORIES
Extending the Practice: Creativity Contribution and Innovation in the Field
•
Innovative, creative use of techniques and tools
•
Contribution to the practice of P2
Indigenous Engagement Award:
•
Engagement processes designed and implemented by Indigenous practitioners
•
Culturally appropriate and inclusive processes with Indigenous people/communities
PROJECT AWARD CATEGORIES
Respect for Diversity, Inclusion and Culture Award
•
Effective engagement with marginalized, vulnerable and “hard to reach” populations;
•
Multicultural, linguistically diverse and/or bilingual process that reflect a depth and
diversity of participants;
•
Size and scope of project that reflects Canada
P2 for the Greater Good
•
Effective ways for the public to participate, with limited resourcing and in the name of
positive social change;
•
Processes implemented by non-profits, NGO’s or delivered pro-bono
•
Projects that result in positive social outcomes with limited budget/resources
FORMAT CONSIDERATIONS
Review the Style Guide carefully
Please pay attention to format requirements
 Unlikely an entry would be disqualified for format
 HOWEVER in a tie between two entries, format may be the
deciding factor
FORMAT OVERVIEW
8 – 10 pages (8 ½ x 11 in) depending on whether
photos/graphics are included. Arial 11 point font
 Cover page: title; category; organization; nominee; contact
Information; 2 participant references; contacts for 3 publications
(newspapers, journals, magazines, etc.) to be notified if your
submission is selected
 Page 2: case study summary table
 Pages 3-8: the award submission
 Page 8-10 (optional): permitted if images or photos are
included

 Start with the Core Values
 Spend time thinking about them in relation to your project or
organization.
 Review past winners and finalists – take a look at the
Canadian, American and Federation websites
 Use clear, straightforward writing style
 Make no assumptions about what the judges may know/not
know about your project or organization
CREATE A WINNING ENTRY
 Build a team to help you pull together the submission
 Review the Tips and Tools at the back of the Application Kit
 Map out the work and the time line
 Work back from deadline: May 4th 2015 at 4:30 pm Pacific
Daylight Time
 Entries by email - in either Adobe PDF or MS Word formats
 Entry fee - $100.00. Pay online at www.iap2cananda.ca –
payment can be found in the Events Section.

 Get feedback on the draft from those familiar with the
project/organization

• Submit your entry to info@iap2canada.ca by May 4, 2015
4:30 pm PDT. Don’t forget the entry fee.
• Finalists will be contacted after July 1, 2015
• Awards will be announced at the Core Values Awards Gala
dinner in Portland, September 10, 2015.
