Welcome to the Faculty of Business and Society. We hope that you will enjoy your time with
us. To help you settle into University life, the first week will be taken up with an induction
programme which is mandatory and aims to provide you with essential and useful
information. The first week of teaching also begins after the induction session.
Please find attached the induction programme for the ACCA Year 3 students enrolling in
September 2014. It is essential that you attend each of these sessions as they will be
providing valuable information you will need during the course of your studies at the
University of South Wales. Please ask any questions during the course of the programme if
you wish to do so. For issues outside of your course our Advice Shop staff are on hand to
help.

Undergraduate Induction Programme
REGULAR COURSE TIMETABLE
The Treforest ACCA course is taught in groups of two modules, where you study two
modules for 13 weeks and then complete the December examinations. When you return in
February, you study a further two modules and complete the examinations for these in June.
The big advantage of this is that you will only be studying (and preparing for examinations)
for a maximum of two modules at any one time. Please ensure you check the online
timetable, as the rooms change throughout the teaching period;

Homework may be either written questions, or revision for a class-based test: this is in
addition to any reading that you may be required to do, as shown on the teaching
programmes that will be given out by the individual module leaders.

The university facilities including Computer Laboratories, Library, Recreation Centre and
Gym are available to all ACCA students. Refreshments are available at various locations on
the campus. These are:
