Wrightstown PTO Meeting Minutes
Attendees: Kim Belletieri, Susan Broadway, Sharon Cox, Jen Daniels, Marley Fleming, Lynn Forsythe,
Hayes Honer, Amy Lucerne, Emily McCarthy, Robin Silber, Dana Siverd, Marybeth Wallace, Melissa
Williams, Amanda Zazoff, Jodi Zelinsky
Meeting was called to order at 9:32am. November minutes were approved in a motion put forth by
Marybeth Wallace, seconded by Kim Belletieri.
Principal Report: Mrs. Gormley reminded us of Pajama day on 12/21 and the PTO funded assembly on
same day (musical). 12/18 is the Student Council Cookies for Cancer fundraiser. PTO gave student
council a grant to fund lemonade so 100% of proceeds will be donated to Cookies for Cancer.
Shed Update: Melissa & Craig Williams generously donated the stone needed for shed base and worked
with district, who dug pit, leveled ground and spread stone to get shed platform to code). Thank you to
the Williams’ and district!
Passive Fundraising: McCaffery receipts are accepted anytime, just send into your child’s homeroom in
envelope label PTO. First check was received in November for $31. Please keep receipts coming!
Committee Thank yous: A big thanks goes out to Jen Daniels and Marley Fleming for RavensWear,
Colleen Keller for Holiday Shop, Marley Fleming for hosting WES moms coffee and Marybeth Wallace for
the WES lobby seasonal decorations.
Committee Updates:
Science Night-Individual, group, family project options. Look for permission slip to participate
first week of January. Once registered, you’ll receive additional documents discussing Science Fair and
parent role (supportive vs. active) and teacher incentives (extra credit, homework pass etc. TBD).
Jennifer Daniels needs additional committee members. Please contact her. Science Night is open to all
grades.
Bingo Night – January 11, 2013 Marybeth Wallace & Kate Mooney chairing.
Father / Daughter Sweetheart Dance – February 22, 2013. Save the dates out in December.
Prices $43/couple, $14 each additional daughter. Ticket sales in January. Dinner and dancing in a
country club setting. Open to WES girls (K-6) and their father figure.
Run Club- for those already registered from fall, there will be a winter exercise program rolling
out where feet can be earned. More info coming soon.
AIR - (Artist in Residence) – Let’s get Buggy art project to tie into science curriculum will be held
on 1/29, 2/15, 2/12 (3 consecutive Tuesdays) This will be an involved project for the 4 selected classes.
Any helpers interested, please call Dana Siverd. 1st and 2nd grade (4 classes will participate and all
materials & fees are covered by $1000 PTO budget)
Ravenswear orders going out this week
Parent Advisory - update on Keystone Test: 4 subject areas, kids must pass to graduate, starting
with current 8th graders, state funded testing (not CR but statewide program) more info is online at
district website
Family Fun Night – Robin Silber & Lisa Wernicke chairing new committee. Spring date. Ideas so
far are Lego Love (building), Books for Bingo, Chili cookoff, Wacky Game Night (wheel of misfortune,
oversized twister),puzzle night, CSI night (mystery; lead up all week with clues / suspects), Pancake
dinner. CSI night was the most popular idea.
Spring Fair - Grade Level Baskets - Hayes Honer and Heather Oberhau. We are seeking new
ideas for booths: Idea for music room – freeze dance or Just Dance Room. Gardening booth – needs to
be right timing for plants to bloom. Hair booth – high school student run this the past 2 years. Pie in the
face – will a teacher volunteer ? Kiss the pig. What works and what needs revamped? New ideas?

Raffle Basket ~ will be done by Grade Level. 8 baskets, raffle off 5 using the week of fair then
save the last 3 for the day of the Fair
Silent Auction Bid – should we include experiences with the teachers?
New Business: Coming in January, WES PTO will put out a survey to obtain more feedback and
discussion on PTO issues such as how do we fundraise, how money is spent, activities and areas of
interests for our community etc.
Motion to adjourn meeting by Hayes Honer and Emily McCarthy. Meeting adjourned at 10:20am.
