VASH Director
Lamp Community is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization. Our mission is to end homelessness of Los Angeles' most
vulnerable individuals, primarily adults with mental illness, through a continuum of services and housing, enabling them to reach their
highest level of self-sufficiency and community integration.
SUMMARY
The VASH Director will oversee the Housing and Urban Development-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing program. In addition, the
Director will lead and coordinate all agency-wide training and orientation sessions to ensure that Lamp provides high-quality services
that meet or exceed required contract and funder standards. The Director will also provide staff consultation and clinical supervision
for direct practice, documentation, compliance, and quality assurance best practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Monitor all administrative aspects of the HUD-VASH program, including billing and contract maximization in compliance
with contract goals and outcomes
2. Ensure program productivity goals and outcomes are achieved

4. Complete Annual Program Assessment and make program recommendations to senior management
5. Attend funding partner or collaborative meetings as assigned
6. Complete required reporting to funders as outlined by contract requirements
7. Ensure all member paperwork and data collection is complete, timely, accurate, and current in agency records and electronic
database
8. Provide individual and team clinical supervision for direct services staff as assigned, and document according to BBS
standards and industry best practices
9. Lead the New Employee Orientation Program and coordinate agency-wide training
10. Schedule, coordinate, and deliver new employee orientation sessions on a regular basis to ensure employees gain an
understanding of the agency history, mission, policies, and culture
11. Develop, schedule, coordinate, and deliver training sessions for direct-services staff to ensure that they are sufficiently
prepared to safely and effectively perform the duties and responsibilities of their position
12. Work independently and collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to define appropriate content, sequence,
and presentation methods for assigned training topics
13. Identify and coordinate internal and external individuals to assist in development and delivery of training and new hire
orientation sessions
14. Collaborate with the HR Director and management team to monitor and ensure agency-wide compliance with training
requirements in contracts and statements of work
15. Collaborate with HR Director and management team to identify agency and individual skill gaps, and develop training
program goals to improve quality of services provided
16. Collaborate with HR Director and management team to measure the impact of training delivered on the quantity and/or
quality of services provided for mental health, chronic disease symptoms, and housing retention
17. Assist in the development of training goals for Corrective Action Plans for the agency as needed based on audit findings
18. Assist in the development of training goals and performance improvement steps for Corrective Action Plans and Performance
Improvement Plans for individual staff as needed based on performance documentation provided by supervisors
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Valid and current California licensed Clinical Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist
2. Required certification and two years’ full-time, post-graduate experience providing supervision to treatment
teams, interns, and/or ASWs
3. Minimum two years’ experience in training materials design, development and delivery; or an equivalent
combination of education and experience
4. Strong training, project management, and team-building skills
5. Able to develop and deliver effective staff development and training sessions on a variety of topics
6. Able to identify and coordinate internal and external individuals to support/provide effective delivery of training
and new hire orientation sessions
7. Able to behave with sensitivity, tact, and responsiveness
8. Outstanding clinical review skills
9. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications
10. Detail oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and
computer skills
11. Able to learn quickly and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies
12. Current, valid California Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of VA policies and procedures
Strong working knowledge of ACT model implementation, and housing first and harm reduction methodologies
Supervisory experience
Two or more years’ experience working with veterans or those living with mental illness and/or substance
addictions
Contract and/or quality assurance experience
Minimum 30 WPM typing speed
