FOLLARI 845-897-6700 EXT. 30138 OFFICE ROOM 109 OFFICE HOURS- PERIOD 1, PERIOD 8 “ALL STUDENTS MUST PASS THE NEW YORK STATE REGENTS EXAMINATION.” –NYSED COURSE OVERVIEW: OVER THE SPAN OF THIS YEAR, STUDENTS WILL COMPLETE THE SECOND HALF OF GLOBAL HISTORY & GEOGRAPHY. FOR MOST STUDENTS THE FIRST HALF OF THIS COURSE WAS COMPLETED IN 9TH GRADE. AT THE END OF THIS SCHOOL YEAR ALL STUDENTS WILL TAKE A REGENTS EXAMINATION THAT COVERS BOTH 9TH AND 10TH GRADE MATERIAL AND IS REQUIRED FOR GRADUATION. THE PASSING OF THIS TEST IS REQUIRED FOR COURSE CREDIT AND IS 20% OF THE STUDENT’S OVERALL GRADE. THE TOPICS SPAN THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION TO CURRENT EVENTS. SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE COURSE REQUIRES THAT STUDENTS UNDERSTAND CONNECTIONS BETWEEN PAST AND PRESENT AND GEOGRAPHY AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT. COURSE CONTENT FOCUSES ON READING, WRITING, AND IMPROVING ALL OTHER HIGHER ORDER THINKING SKILLS. GRADING POLICIES: ALL STUDENTS MUST PASS THE REGENTS EXAMINATION.
