STEPS TO APPLY TO THE NURSING PROGRAM 1. Submit an application to the college. http://www.jtcc.edu/admissions/get-started-at-tyler/ 2. Complete developmental testing as required or show proof of college level English and Math when you visit counseling. http://jtcc.edu/services/testing-centers/placement-testing-schedules/ 3. See a counselor for initial course planning, curriculum placement, and assignment to a nursing advisor. http://www.jtcc.edu/services/counseling-and-student-success-centers/ 4. Submit official transcripts from high school and colleges attended. 5. Review the transfer credit policies and submit a Transfer Credit Form if applicable. http://www.jtcc.edu/admissions/steps-for-admission/transfer-student/transfer-student-seeking-adegree-or-certificate 6. Enroll in or complete all 1st semester courses* and any developmental courses indicated by testing. The 5 courses are: BIO 141 ENG 111 MTH 158 PSY 230 SDV 100 or 101 *Some substitutions and waivers are allowed. All course attempts within 5 years are considered. Math and science courses must be within 10 years old to qualify. Contact your nursing advisor for more information. 7. Complete the TEAS Test with the required minimum scores. Review Eligibility Requirements: Completion of or current enrollment in all prerequisite courses; C or better required Overall GPA of 2.0 Curricular GPA of 2.5 Minimum of 45th percentile rank (national) in the overall and in all content areas of the of the TEAS test. Documented attendance to an Information Session within 6 months 10. Submit an application, copy of TEAS scores, transfer credit report and personal statement to nursingapplications@jtcc.edu . Details regarding the personal statement can be found on the application. All applications must be received before midnight of the last day of the application period.
