Project work
Our course is divided into four major themes: Environment, Food and Agriculture, Recycling and
Energy production.
For your project work choose one topic from both projects according to your interest and write a
response sheet of about 400 words.
Add pictures(creative commons) and videos if possible
Project 1: Environment; Conservation, Climate change, natural disasters
Food and Agriculture; Animals, organic farming
Topic 1: Endangered species: Choose and endangerd species and search information
on the following things:

nutrition, breeding
habitat and its possible changes
behaviour
reasons for being endangered
actions being taken to recover the species
Once you have the information, write a response paper where you discuss the
problems of endangered animal species on a general level; the reasons, solutions
etc. Then focus on the species you chose as a case study.
Topic 2: Organic farming vs. factory farming: Watch the video clips from below and
google for more information. What are the main differences between organic and
factory farming when it comes to animals. What are the pros and cons for both?
Where do you stand from an ethical point of view? You can also use text 2 as a
source.

Topic 3: Natural disasters: Choose any natural disaster and search for information:

What were the results
Environmental disasters
Discuss the topic from different aspects, not only what took place but also how it
affected people, how was it covered in the media. In other words, try to include a
socio-economic dimension to it too.
You can use text 4 for ideas and source.
Topic 4: Global warming: Watch the video links, google for more information and
add your own personal opinion on global warming. How much is it the fault of
humans? Or is it just natural fluctuation? What are the biggest concerns? What are
the main reasons? Who suffers the most from the effects of global warming? Why is
there such huge debate on the matter? Why do people argue against global
warming?

Project 2: Recycling, Energy production; renewable energy sources vs.
nonrenewable energy sources
Topic 1: Feeling energetic?: Study text 7 once more. Try to find as many pros and
cons for both nuclear energy and alternative energy sources. What is the reality in

Topic 2:On Recycling : Write a speech where you take a stand either for or against
