In this position, you will be responsible for: providing advice on financial arrangements for collecting revenue and making payments on behalf of the Province to support its borrowing and investing, ministry programs, tax collection and the Ontario Public Service corporate initiatives identifying and procuring innovative and cost-effective financial services including banking and cash management, custody and credit and debit card acceptance services and managing complex contracts and relationships participating in and/or leading cross-ministry projects to evaluate, provide technical advice and implement new/enhanced banking and card-related services to modernize processes and improve customer service developing policies/procedures and systems/databases/reports to manage the Province's banking and financial services arrangements Location: 1 Dundas Street West, Toronto, Ontario What we are looking for: Financial Services Skills and Knowledge: you have demonstrated skills in financial analysis, financial reporting, financial systems and the development of policies and controls you have an established understanding of financial instruments you have proven knowledge of the financial services industry including retail banking and the payments business; trust and custody; and credit, debit and stored-value card services, products and their technical aspects you have demonstrated knowledge of domestic and international banking and payments systems and their regulation Compliance Skills: you have the ability to acquire knowledge of government procurement directives and guidelines and to interpret and apply these to all procurement requests you have the ability to acquire knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. the Financial Administration Act, Capital Investment Plan Act, the Bank Act) and other regulations, guidelines and directives, with the ability to interpret and apply these as well Program and Project Management Skills: you are experienced in project management principles and methodologies and participating in and leading project teams you have demonstrated research, analytical and problem-solving skills you have demonstrated ability to review and recommend improvements to processes and procedures including identifying opportunities to automate, streamline and enhance business processes and reporting you have proven contract management skills and can liaise effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders including representatives of the financial services industry Communication Skills: you have demonstrated written and oral communication skills to articulate and present effectively to stakeholders and senior management you have strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain close working relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders, senior officials in the financial services industry and other levels of government Salary range: $66,884.00 – $85,006.00 per annum Please apply online, by July 20, 2011, by visiting www.ontario.ca/careers and entering Job ID 37535 in the Job ID search field.
