1. Nonaggression pact-An agreement in which nations promise not to attack one another
2. Blitzkrieg-“lightning war”- a form of warfare in which surprise attacks with fastmoving airplanes are followed by massive attacks with infantry forces

defeated Japanese forces in the central Pacific

World War II, in which Nazi leaders were tried for aggression, violations of the rules of
war, and crimes against humanity
15. Demilitarization-A reduction in a country’s ability to wage war, achieved by
disbanding its armed forces and prohibiting it from acquiring weapons
16. Charles de Gaulle- Leader of France during World War II
17. Winston Churchill- Prime Minister of Great Britain during World War II
18. Isoroku Yamamoto- Japanese military strategist during World War II, mastermind
behind the Pearl Harbor attack
