December 20, 2013 SALEM-KEIZER TRANSIT Temporary Information Support Analyst Anticipated six month assignment HOURLY: $ 22.79 Open until filled First Review Date January 10, 2014 JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Manager of Planning and Technology Services, perform a wide variety of moderately complex technical duties including, but not limited to, administration of workstations, peripheral devices, desktop software, and operating systems. This position provides end user support and instruction for hardware and software. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide prompt and courteously technical support to users of District systems and technology by diagnosing problems and taking appropriate corrective action. Install, administer, and maintain workstations, peripheral devices, desktop software, and operating systems. Provide support for server-based, District-wide software systems to include end-user support, vendor coordination, troubleshooting, documentation, and training. Provide individual and group instruction and training on office and transit specific technology. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Extensive knowledge, ability, and skill in the administration, installation, repair, and support of desktop computers and peripherals. This includes, but is not limited to, peripherals, printers, network connectivity, security, Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, desktop applications, and other technology. DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Extensive knowledge, ability, and skill in the administration and support of server-based, District-wide software systems. This includes, but is not limited to, RouteMatch, Trapeze, FleetNet, Accufund, People-Trak, and other transit technology. Some working knowledge in the administration, installation, repair, and support of network and communication technology, including, but not limited to, Active Directory, Group Policy, security, servers, telephony, Wireless, and LAN/WAN technology. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: No criminal conviction which may, in the sole judgment of the District, constitute a threat to property or the safety of others. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associate’s Degree or two-year technical certificate in computer science and two years of experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computers and peripherals or any satisfactory equivalent combination of related experience and training which provides the required knowledge, abilities, and skills. WORKING CONDITIONS: Usual office working environment. May occasionally have to drive or take the bus to perform position functions. If incumbent wishes to drive, incumbent must present District with valid Oregon Driver’s License and must maintain driving record which demonstrates adherence to safety and traffic laws and regulations. Must occasionally lift or move materials weighing up to 75 pounds. Must occasionally work in confined spaces or under desks to access desktop or transit computer equipment Must carry a cell phone during working hours for accessibility purposes.
