Terms of Reference (ToR) For Production of Training Video Background: A Brief intro of WWF and the project interventions to be inserted WWF-Pakistan is country’s largest international nonprofit organization working to stop the degradation of natural resources and conservation of environment. Under Market Transformation Initiative of WWF Intl, WWF – P is working on various cotton projects under its Sustainable Agriculture Programme since 1999. WWF-Pakistan has expanded its efforts further up the supply chain and specifically target cotton ginning SMEs in Pakistan to ensure the development of a sustainable cotton supply chain from the farm to final product. WWF – P has (December, 2011) signed a project agreement with European Union Switch-Asia Programme titled ‘Sustainable cotton production in Pakistan’s cotton ginning SMEs (SPRING)’ through this project, it is aimed that at least 500 cotton ginning SME’s in Pakistan recognize the benefits of sustainable cotton production and consumption and 40% of these commit to more sustainable production practices, in line with agreed better ginning practice guidelines, and supported by the procurement practices of European retailers. Objectives of the assignment To build the capacity of gin owners, workers and managerial staff for practical implementation of Better Ginning Practices (BGPs) to improve the resource efficiency of cotton ginning SMEs in Pakistan that leads to economic growth with less environmental impact. Requirement Development of a forty (40) minutes instructional training film on practical demonstration of Better Ginning Practices (BGPs) in cotton ginning SMEs of Pakistan. Specific Deliverables 1. Theme/ Concept note developed in consultation with the WWF team 2. Framework of the training film including shoot plan along with timelines for each activity 3. Master Copy of Digital Video Tape for the entire project 2. Roles and Responsibilities of the selected organization Provide a training film, as outlined above, to WWF as soon as reasonably possible after postproduction. Scripts for the films will be developed prior to filming in coordination with WWF. All post production and finishing will be completed to international standards. All raw master tapes and DVD disks of all the footage/b-roll filmed on location will be delivered to WWF. Each of the products will adhere to WWF branding guidelines. This may include adding a written disclaimer. Written consent of all the featured beneficiaries must be obtained by the producers with assistance from WHO staff traveling with them to the field. Ownership of and copyright in all material prepared as part of the service shall vest in WWF. 3. Time Frame The expected duration of the contract is 02 months, which will start after the signing of contract by both parties. A comprehensive work plan, including feedback time and specific deadlines will be jointly agreed on the first meeting between the contractor and the communications unit. Qualification requirements: The selected company/vendor must have: Should have a well-established production house with in-house technical human resource A minimum of 5 years of experience in documentary/training film production Have in house production facility (state of the art equipment and production/ editing facilities) in Islamabad A portfolio of at least 15-20 documentaries assignments on development issues Must be Registered with Tax Department Must have the experience of making documentaries for development sector Must share at least 3 documentary production contracts with development sector Experience of working on WWF’s documentary films will be preferred Must have substantial prior experience of making documentary in textile/ ginning SMEs. Must have experience commodity supply chain documentary production. Experience of working on WWF’s documentary films will be preferred 3 5. Important Note 1. The documentary should provide high quality footage and in depth first person interviews. All the footage collected will be WWF’s property. 2. The deliverables should be ready before 15th JUNE 2015. 3. The content of the products will be shared and approved beforehand by WWF representatives/team. 6.
