Post Review/Analysis
I have reviewed various reviews and posts directed towards the two restaurants that I chose for
my qualitative task. My analysis are based on the opinions of the customers and it is unbiased,
based on the experience of the customers. Most of the reviews and post were very positive, I
presume because these restaurants are highly respected and popular. Very few customers
were left unsatisfied.
Bahama Breeze:
This chain seems to immediately gain a positive response from most of the consumers.
Although some consumers were not satisfied, the most common perk for this restaurant was the
tastefulness of its entrees. Customers seemed to be very satisfied with the unique flavors and
the short amount of time taken to prepare the entrees. Key attributes of this restaurant seems to
be the customer service and the Caribbean like setting. Many customers were very satisfied and
to some degree impressed by the great service. The customers will remembered the previous
good experiences they had at Bahama Breeze and share them on the reviews/posts. This adds
good reputation value to the company, it is also a good marketing resource for the restaurant.
Maggiano’s Little Italy:
Customers really enjoy the “family theme” atmosphere presented at Maggianos. Italians
are very family oriented, and Maggiano’s did a great job integrating their restaurant with a strong
family like atmosphere. Customers also enjoy the well-sized entrees. Maggianos being a pricey
restaurant does well by offering big entrees that keep the customers stomachs full and their
taste buds satisfied. The consistency of their food being delicious every bite is one of
Maggiano’s key attributes. Many of the posts are from returning customers who were very
enthusiastic about the quality and the consistency of Maggiano’s dishes. The brand personality
of Maggiano’s is its Italian family based atmosphere. That seems to be a favorite among its
customers.
Which of these two restaurants would you choose if you had to choose one?
I have been to both restaurants and I personally enjoy dining at either of them. If I
was given a choice of choosing only one, I would choose Bahama Breeze. My decision to
choose Bahama Breeze doesn’t discredit Maggianos because it is an amazing restaurant with
superb food. I just feel like Bahama Breeze fits me better. The Caribbean atmosphere and
spiced foods really appeal to me. They welcome their diners with a live jazz musician, with
perfectly dimmed lights, and an island style restaurant theme. Bahama Breeze has so much
personality, I feel right at home.
Media vehicles each restaurant should use to effectively reach and favorably impact its
target audience.
I believe that both restaurants are very popular to a certain degree and business for
each is definitely favorable to say the least. What I did notice was that these two restaurants
had websites that didn’t really explain the atmosphere or the experience you get when dining at
either. Maggiano’s presents the family oriented cultural atmosphere that I feel should be
expressed on their website to show customers what kind of setting they’re in for. Also the big
dishes you get should be advertised much more to show the customers that they are getting
bang for their buck. Bahama breeze has a very Caribbean style theme that should also be on
display on their website for the customer to admire. The live jazz player is a great perk and
should be used for Bahama Breeze’s benefit by informing the customer that this is something
you can expect when dining here. Lastly this society we live in now is very technical. Almost
every consumer has a cellular/smart phone or some portable device. This is a great way to
advertise and get information and/or promotional offers to their target market. Some restaurants
have yet to make the transition from old to new. What I mean by this is to adapt to the
consumer. Learn the new trends and styles and use them to your benefit.

Pleasantly surprised!
Stopped in to meet Michelle C. for a quick HH cocktail before the Eagles game one Sunday and sat
at the bar for a tasty cocktail and some food. Wow! We were both happily surprised at both the food
and drink menu. There were some awesome cocktails on the menu! I had an Italian
Greyhound...vodka and grapefruit, of course, but served with a rosemary sprig and some
Campari...Yes please! I'll take two! It was delicious, and served with one big huge ice cube. I would
expect this from some of the swanky bars around town, but not for a chain restaurant like
Maggiano's...well done!
We shared a chopped salad which was HUGE and also some cheese arancini (you really can't go
wrong with cheese arancini). The chopped salad was SO good, the prosciutto was super crispy and
there was just the right amount of dressing...I could eat that salad every day!
If you're in the area, definitely go in for some happy hour goodies, I'll definitely be back that's for
sure!

I went here for my friend's birthday party, and the good was great. I also loved that past deal. Buy
one of their special pastas and you get to take one home FREE. can't beat that! also, the bread was
great, and the staff was also friendly and helpful. I also ordered the mussels for appetizers, and I
was pleased. the portions are also great for the price.
Kimberly Y. Philadelphia, PA
I always order the Family Style Meals, which are definitely worth the price! I actually enjoy the
appetizers and salads much more than the entrees. We usually get some combination of stuffed
mushrooms (I always crave these for days afterwards), sausage and peppers, mussels, calamari,
and Maggiano's salad (they have a great dressing!). You can eat an extraordinary amount if you
carve out some time and refill your plates multiple times before moving onto the next course. Ask for
refills ahead of time since they take a while! (We definitely asked for stuffed mushrooms at least 3
times.) Both times I have been to the Philly Maggiano's, the waiter has told my group that he couldn't
believe we finished everything. Oops.
The service is pretty average. The waiters are nice, but do not come around enough. This is
probably because we wanted a decent number of refills, so I don't fault them too much. We just
flagged them down. The lobby looks really nice, and the dining area is fine.
Michael P. Wynnewood, PA
This is our office's "reliable" spot, as it's a 2 minute walk away, and the food is consistently
good. We often remark about the scent of garlic when we walk past on our way to work in the
mornings. Most often when office meetings run late, we segue into continuing discussions over
lunch or early dinner. Maggiano's can handle larger parties and we've never had to wait long, even
without reservations.
We've ordered "family style", a la carte, soup/salad, and happy-hour appetizers/drinks. They've all
been rock-solid. The atmosphere is really nice, especially for a large, chain restaurant attempting to
look like a small, local Italian joint. The menu is broad and there are always specials. Service is
generally good, though the kitchen can get slowed when they'e a number of large parties. (In other
words, plenty of offices have their Christmas lunches here, and the kitchen works hard to keep up.)
The location is terrific, for locals and out-of-towners, with three large hotels and the Convention
Center in walking distance.
Scott D. West Chester, PA
This goes to the poor service. We had issues throughout our meal that were inexcusable. We had to
ask several times for an appetizer, then 1 main course came after everyone's meal and one of the
kids beer received ice cream even though the table was served. Even getting and paying the check
was a challenge. We had 2 waiters and neither seemed attentive to our table or cared that things
were slow and wrong. Seems like many others have the same experience.
Go to KOP - much better! Sadly the food was very good
Rizwan A. Philadelphia, PA
Welcome to the Cheesecake Factory of Italian food. It's a chain, yes, but let's face it, chains are
successful for a reason.
Maggiano's is the SAFE authentic Italian restaurant you want to go to when you want a LOT of food,
a lot of people, and the look of an old authentic Italian restaurant. Even though Philly has many
Italian restaurants (Ralphs for example) Maggiano's is high enough on the authenticity meter to keep
in your Italian restaurant rotation anyway. As a chain there are few surprises and little if any
disappointments, they are the vanilla Italian restaurant but still delivery with huge portions, good
prices, and good quality food. You lose a bit of your hipster cred by eating here if you give a damn
about that sort of silliness.
Everything I've had here has always been great. Even their plain side-dish spaghetti is still good
quality and fresh enough that unless you grew up eating nothing but Italian food and knit-picking how
much basil/oregano was thrown on top of half your food you'll be happy here. I also had the chicken
parm and thought it was perfect. I've made that dish enough times myself to know they hit it dead
on. Overall, no regrets and no complaints, would definitely come back.

Three of us ended up near Love Park on a cold and wet Sunday night. Hadn't planned ahead, but
saw Maggiano's on this helpful site. It turned out to be a tremendous surprise.
As soon as we checked in at the front, we were shown to a spacious but comfortable table. Water,
fantastic warm bread, butter and olive oil were ready for us as soon as we were seated. Drinks
arrived quickly. Our server was professional, gracious and knowledgable. Appetizers were full of
flavor and just as described on the menu. We had three different entrées, and they were all brought
hot and timely, cooked to perfection, looked and tasted great.

I recently came to Maggiano's in Philadelphia for a rehearsal dinner. We had a private room and the
servers were really great. All the food came out family style, from the salads to the entrees to the
desserts. I, of course, had to have a little bit of everything and it was all delicious. Will be back again.

Great food and drinks! Impressive Kitchen!
DINER REVIEW • JAN 27, 2014 We love going to Bahama Breeze every few months, it's one of the best
chains. I miss the red pepper goat cheese app. We were sat right at our quoted time which is always nice.
The outdoor bartender was friendly and fast, and our server was prompt with drinks and apps. It was a
busy Saturday night and the kitchen seemed to be really on point. Everything was hot, delicious and fast.
The only problem was we didn't have any silverware. I went back to the host stand to ask for some and
was told that they have a designated silverware roller who was "behind" That is crazy. Anyone can help
out that one person for a minute. I said "well, there is food at the table, we would like to start eating" I'm
not picky, but silverware is a necessity to eat jerk chicken pasta. The host gave me plastic ware in a togo
package. The food is so good, the service staff just needs to execute a little better. The server never
brought a napkin or real silverware. At the very end the server said "do you always... more >

They changed the menu. The corn tamale cakes and chicken Kebobs are gone. Service was poor. Bad
night for a usual home run. Bad night best food on our table was our Kid's Mac n cheese.

From the appetizers to the service, very dissatisfied. Entrees were not great either, had to ask for drink
refills, wings were obviously frozen then reheated.

Three times in one vacation!! Amazing, will return every visit to Tampa. Sat at the outside seating the first
two nights, inside the last day to experience the larger menu. Chicken quesadillas, fish tacos, and the
chipotle bowl is what I ordered. Amazing! My boyfriend loved all of his meals as well. Go here you won't
regret it!

Food quality declining
DINER REVIEW • AUG 14, 2013 DOESN'T LIKE IT
Been going to Bahama Breeze for years, especially to get takeout for the office staff. However slowly food
quality has been declining. Not as fresh, nor tasty as it use to be...pretty bland in addition to portions
getting smaller. Still a nice atmosphere if going for drinks & such.

DINER REVIEW • FEB 09, 2013 LIKES IT
The food was pretty good, the drinks were very tasty and strong, but the most impressive part of our
experience was the service. We came with seven people and two young kids, and they did a great job
with us the entire meal, even though it was relatively packed. I am coming back for sure.

Just another chain restaurant
DINER REVIEW • FEB 04, 2013 DOESN'T LIKE IT
There is absolutely NOTHING exciting about this place. The "view" everyone keeps raving about is
obstructed by the highway! The food was mediocre, at best so perhaps all the hoopla is about the 1001
different ways they mix alcohol. Thankfully we had gift cards that we used which brought our way overpriced dinner down to a somewhat reasonable cost for the quality of food. So unimpress that we won't be
returning.

DINER REVIEW • DEC 15, 2012 DOESN'T LIKE IT
We called ahead for a table because we had a large party of 12. When we arrived we found out they gave
our table to another party and apparently that was our problem. We were coming for a nice afternoon to
celebrate my birthday and graduation. The older woman, Laura, at the desk was extremely rude and the
manager was trying to fix the problem and did so by cramming us all into a table too small for us. Do not
expect quality service if you're in a big group. Rude employees. Remember its the customer who comes
first, not you.
