TESOL Concerns
25
What do we get from TESOL? Why do we need to be affiliated with
26
TESOL? Since PALT is a language organization and not only
27
concern about English language teaching, Maam Ross moved to
include Teaching Filipino Language (TFL) in our official communication.
28
29
Mila Laurel reiterated that TESOL is willing to provide speakers in
30
our conferences.

Assessment of 2015 Activities
8.1
IFSU National Convention in May 2015
37
Problems Met
38
1. Late coordination resulted to poor attendance, costly &
39
40
41
42
unorganized food preparation
2. No official conference chair and co-chair to oversee the
different committee.
3. Participants from partner institution must pay registration
43
fee. Limited number must be given for Free.
44
The partner institution must be encouraged to invite more
45
participants. This is to sustain the financial status of the
46
organization.
47
Recommendation
48
1. Early preparation of request for DepEd Memo and
49
CHED Memo. The President to prepare the rationale and
50
objectives earlier. Assign somebody to follow up the
51
memo from Deped and CHED. Edith volunteered to
1
follow up the request at DepEd and Marge at CHED.
2
CHED memo must be sent to colleges and universities
by members.
3
2. Assign conference chair and co -chair to oversee the work
4
of the committee.
5
3. Evaluation committee must be permanent in all conference
6
and convention. Liu was asked to lead the committee.
7
4. Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) must be the first
8
priority.
9
8.2
10
Baguio Seminar
1. Financial matter has not settled yet.
11
8.3
12
Caravan at USC
14
1. Quite good turn out of participants in a short span of
preparation. MOU is still
essential.
15
2. No registration fee but the organization incurred expenses.
13
8.4
16
Roundtable discussion at Waterfront
17
1. No MOU with the Japanese. Financial assistance that was
18
given directly to the speakers was just enough to cover
19
expenses for accommodation, airfare and food.
20
Recommendations:
21
1. Edith suggested that speakers and all who served and spent
time in the different activities must be given honorarium
22
just to compensate to the effort and preparation of the
23
materials.
24
25
2. Mila reported on the financial status of the organization
26
informing the group that there is enough to be given.
3. The group decided to give P 5000 to each member who
27
28
served in Baguio and Cebu Conference (USC & Waterfront
29
as one).
30
4. There are 4 who served in Baguio and 10 members in Cebu.
