You will be working as a member of the Executive Team leading the organisation to deliver its strategy and business plan. As a member of the Executive Team you will bring forward new initiatives and processes to enhance our people management processes and ensure Clúid Housing has an environment which fosters continuous improvement and innovation. Role: Director of Human Resources Role Overview: To work with the Executive Team to deliver the corporate strategy. To contribute a progressive HR agenda which is aligned with the business plan. To champion the corporate values of the organisation ensuring all our activities are imbued with these values. You will be accountable for all aspects of the HR function including HR Strategy, HR Budget, Employee Relations, Compensation and Benefits, Recruitment, Organisational Development, Talent Management, Performance Management and Communications. You will work closely with the Board and convene the Building our Capacity Board Committee. Reporting to: Chief Executive Key responsibilities Executive Team: Provide support and advice to the Executive Team on all human resource matters Help to guide the Executive Team on all change management initiatives Source and instruct external consultants and advisers where appropriate Provide advices to the Executive Team on organisational planning Maintain and continuously update your own skills and knowledge so as to fulfil your brief to the Executive Team and Board Maintain and complete the annual HR work-plan and meet the HR expectations contained within the business plan Recruitment & Selection: Participate in the drive for operational excellence by managing on-site recruitment in a timely manner after internal & external approval is received Liaise with managers to plan recruitment in advance of budget preparation Manage the sourcing, selection and placement of employees at all levels in the organisation Manage the recruitment process from drawing up job descriptions, selecting the appropriate sourcing methods right through to offer and induction stage Drive recruitment and resource management processes to ensure right talent and capabilities are in place Ensure an active and engaged probation process is used so that only appropriate staff are retained to work in Clúid Develop Resource Planning processes for Clúid. Performance Management: Implement the People Support Process throughout the organisation ensuring the approach is maintained whilst professional and consistent measures are employed Provide coaching to line managers in dealing with performance Ensure all managers are trained to fulfil the requirements and expectations of Clúid Housing Provide advice to managers to encourage behaviours that reinforce the values of Clúid Housing Learning & Development: Manage the learning and development plans throughout Clúid Ensure alignment of the learning plan with the Clúid business plan and objectives. Manage and organise the training plans alongside the departmental Managers & Directors, taking ownership of the delivery plan and roll out Ensure training and opportunities for learning and new experience are available to staff to facilitate continuous improvement and up to date knowledge Monitor, assess and report on training outcomes Ensuring the right resources are available and agree project milestones Maintain and enhance the trainee recruitment programme which ensures the availability of professional property managers to Clúid Housing Build and maintain relationships with key external accrediting bodies Internal Communications and Staff Engagement: Continue to lead and deliver on the internal communications infrastructure which will ensure regular two way communication and encourage staff engagement Manage the Great Place to Work project through the employee “Inclúid to Improve” Group. Identify specific areas of focus in terms of continuously improving the levels of employee engagement throughout the organisation Continuously review and upgrade the benefits package obtaining value for money for Clúid Create and employ staff retention policies that help to retain core staff Talent Management: Manage Organisational Talent Review Process & Succession planning as appropriate Lead the continuous assessment of business capabilities to ensure Clúid is fit for purpose and HR supports the business challenges e.g. resource planning and capacity building. Facilitate organisation capability initiatives such as the Building Potential programme Manage Effective Mentoring Interventions including cross organisational peer support Facilitate and roll out changes to Company policy. Organisational Development: Oversee the implementation of the strategic plan and the Business plan as a member of the Executive Team Advise and support on the people element of any change processes within Clúid Facilitate Clúid in managing any structural changes and work closely with the Executive Team to ensure optimal organisational structures are in place to meet business objectives Develop close working relationship with the business units to gain commercial understanding of their business strategies and people requirements Assist in the implementation of HR initiatives throughout Clúid, ensuring a pragmatic, effective implementation Facilitate management to utilise people programmes and tools to motivate teams and create a culture that encourages the development and retention of high calibre people, high performance and ongoing employee engagement. Employee Relations: Provide support and advice on employee relations matters to all employees Ensure timely handling of all employee relation matters, ensuring correct grievance / disciplinary procedures are adhered to Provide interpretation and advice on all HR policies to promote consistent application Provide expert advice and guidance on the legal & HR implications of people management decisions Manage all disciplinary processes, supporting relevant managers and liaising with official bodies as required Prepare managers and staff in advance for appearances to external bodies Manage Clúid’s Dignity at Work policies and procedures & liaise with the H&S where appropriate HR Administration and Reporting: Maintain the HR database and manage the HR administration function including the time management system Ensure all HR Policies and Procedures are widely communicated and comply with current Employment Legislation Review and approve contracts/amendments and correspondence to employees before issue.
