American Democracy Brochure Project
You are to create a trifold brochure to explain American Democracy.
You may not use notebook paper! Instead use white computer
paper, colored paper or construction/poster paper.
Each of the six sections:
1. Cover: include things such as a title, your name, anything else you want to include.
2. American Democracy: include things such as an explanation of democracy, which type of democracy
America has, benefits of democracy, etc. (Government Notes)
3. Origins of American Democracy: explain how 3 of the 6 concepts are related to American democracy such
as rule of law, legislature, natural rights, social contract, popular sovereignty, or separation of powers.

4. American Freedom: describe why America wanted freedom from Great Britain and how they got it. (Why

5. Creating the American Constitution: explain how the Constitution was eventually created by including
things such as the Articles of Confederation, plans, compromises, Federalists/Antifederalists, etc. (Creating
the Constitution Notes)
6. The American Constitution: describe the set up/organization of the document and include things such as
the preamble, articles, amendments, checks and balances, and powers. (The Constitution Notes)
*You must have a picture (printed or hand drawn) for each section! Remember this is a major project/test
