Last week you examined the virtue of joy. Perhaps you learned that God is the only true source of authentic joy. This week before your group meeting, read Believe, Chapter 23: Peace. Then allow the Scripture to enter your mind and release any anxiety that you may be feeling.
Memorizing Scripture is a valuable discipline for all believers to exercise. Spend a few minutes each day committing this week’s Key Verses to memory.
Key Verse: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of
God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus – Philippians 4:6-7
Key Idea: God wants you to have peace that passes all understanding!
Read - Note any verses or insights God gives you as you spend time with Him this week. The
more you reflect on God’s word and spend time with Him, the more it will impact your life!

If you would like to keep all your notes together, insert your notes from the weekend service after this page.
Welcome!
If there are any new members in your group, take a moment to introduce yourselves to each other before watching the video. Then, feel free to get started!
Getting Started
Begin your discussion by reciting the Key Verses and Key Idea together as a group. On your first attempt, use your notes if you need help. On your second attempt, try to state them completely from memory.

Group Discussion
LifeGroup Video Question – How has God brought you peace and joy when you’ve been
worried?
1.
What have you learned or what insight has God given you this week as you’ve spent time with Him through your daily Bible reading, Believe reading and in prayer this week?
What was the most impactful thing you heard from Pastor Chuck in this weekend’s message?
2.
How would you say the world defines peace? Do you think this is the same or different from the peace God desires for us? Why? Read John 14:27. Do you tend to seek peace as defined by the world or by God?
3.
According to 2 Thessalonians 3:16 and John 16:33 what should be the source of our peace? Do you find your peace is based on an absence of conflict or strife? Why or why not? How do you find peace in the midst of difficult circumstances?
Love Like Jesus
Philippians 4:4-9 provides a list of good things to dwell on that promote peace. Read 1
Thessalonians 5:16-18. Discuss how prayer, faith and grace lead to true inward peace. What other things lead to this type of peace? How do you think being a part of a LifeGroup can help encourage you in this area?
Intentional Intimacy
In Luke 8:24-25, what caused the disciples to lose their peace and live in fear (Hint: it wasn’t the storm itself)? To what degree is your peace influenced by your present circumstances? Do you find that the effect is less when you are walking close to God? Why do you think this is?
Fully Surrendered
Do you think it’s harder to look to God and follow Him during good times or challenging times?
Explain. When do you think it’s easier to develop and deepen your faith?
Experience More
Read Philippians 4:4-7. How do you think prayer leads to peace? How do you think you can grow in this area as a group and as an individual?
Closing Prayer
Close your time together with prayer. Share your prayer requests with one another. Ask God to help you put this week’s Key Idea into practice.
