1st Sun Yefang Financial Innovation Award
Announcement
To develop construction of finance discipline, improve financial research and promote
academic progress of finance, Sun Yefang Fiscal Science Foundation established Sun
Yefang Financial Innovation Award. The Award, following the principles of openness and
fairness, focuses on identifying excellent and innovative works that keep abreast of the
times and steer academic development, and contributes to the prosperity and development
of the financial discipline in China. Sun Yefang Financial Innovation Award is set to be
allocated every two years, and the first session will begin in May 2014.
QUALIFICATIONS
Books published or papers published (or accepted) by Chinese and overseas journals
from January 1, 2009 to March 31, 2014 are eligible for the Award. All eligible works
shall be relative to Chinese financial issues and innovative in financial theories and
practice.
JURY PANEL
Sun Yefang Financial Innovation Award Jury Panel consists of experts and specialists
from the academia, financial regulatory authorities and the industry. Members of the Jury
Panel are invited by the Sun Yefang Fiscal Science Foundation.
AWARDS
Cash awards for the 1st Sun Yefang Financial Innovation Award are set as follows: RMB
200,000 for each Book Award and RMB 100,000 for each Paper Award, which will be
awarded in the first quarter of 2015.
PROCEDURE
1. Preliminary examination: the Jury Panel Office will conduct procedural examination of
the applications.
2. Evaluation: the Jury Panel will evaluate eligible books and papers, and determine a list
of awardees.
3. Approval: the list of selected awardees will be submitted to the Sun Yefang Fiscal
Science Foundation Board of Directors for approval.
4. Award granting: the Award will be publicized and presented at the award ceremony.
APPLICATION
Individual or team applicants shall submit their applications before October 20, 2014.
Application materials shall include the followings: title of work, author’s name, author’s
employer, date of publication, correspondence address, post code, contact number, e-mail,
and recommendation letters (about 500 words; see Appendix 3) from institutions or
individuals (only doctoral advisors in finance are accepted). No charges for application.
Application for the Book Award shall include:
1. Completed Appendix 1;
2. Recommendation letters from two or more specialists;
3. Three copies of the book.

Application for the Paper Award shall include:
1. Completed Appendix 2;
2. Recommendation letters from two or more specialists;
3. Original copy of the paper or a scanned copy of acceptance letter in pdf format.
