Intermountain Junior Science & Humanities Symposium (IJSHS) THE IJSHS is sponsored in cooperation with the US Departments of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, the Academy of Applied Sciences and the University of Utah. The primary aims of the IJSHS are to promote research and experimentation in the physical and social sciences, engineering, and mathematics at the high school level, and to publicly recognize students for outstanding achievement. Approximately 150 students and teachers from the 5 intermountain states (UT, ID, CO, MT & NV) are brought together for the opportunity to present original research. Winners also compete in the national competition. Awards include scholarships of various amounts. The symposium is a three-day event.
