Speed- The distance traveled by an object
in an amount of time.
Velocity- Speed with a direction.
Constant speed - When an object
travels equal distance in
equal intervals of time,
the speed of the object
is constant
Relative motion - The continuous change of
position of a body with
respect to a second
body or to a reference
point that is fixed.
Distance - is a measurement of space between
two locations measured along the actual path
connecting them.
Displacement- the measurement of space
between two locations measured along the
shortest path connecting them.
Direction - the line along which anything lies.
Position- condition with reference to place.
S = d / t - The formula for finding speed
Line graph - a graph that uses
lines to show the relationship
between numbers or
measurements that change.

Unbalanced force - Forces on an object that are
unbalanced and result in movement
of the object.
Balanced forces - All forces acting on an object
are balanced so there is no change in
motion or speed.
Simple machine - a simple device for altering
the magnitude or direction of a force.
Newton - The SI unit of force.
Inclined plane - Simple machine with a flat
surface that slopes.
Pulley - Machine that has a wheel with a rope,
cable or chain around it.
