Level 2 - SER and ESTAR Group Project
The class will be divided into groups of 3 – 4 students. You have the option of working on your own, but
realize that it will be a lot of work for one individual and that you will not receive additional time to
complete the project.
Each group will create a SER and ESTAR power point presentation to illustrate the different uses for each
verb. Remember that there are 11 categories for SER and 5 categories for ESTAR. Use the graphic
organizer, the notes on SER and ESTAR, and any other resources that you have been given in class. You
must have sentences to illustrate the use and a picture to illustrate the concept. The sentences have to
be in both Spanish and English. Each slide must have a title, the sentences, and pictures to illustrate the
concept/sentence. You must also highlight the verb!

Slide 1: Names of group members, Title
Slide 2: Identification –1 sentence
Slide 3: Description – 1 sentence about color, 1 sentence about size, 1 sentence about appearance
(pretty, skinny, etc.)
Slide 4: Material & Possession – 1 sentence for each use
Slide 5: Profession – 1 sentence
Slide 6: Date & Time – 1 sentence for each use, 1 sentence about the seasons such as “It’s Spring,
Summer, Winter, or Fall.
Slide 7: Nationality and Origin – 1 sentence for each use
Slide 8: Location of an event – 1 sentence
Slide 9: Characteristics – 1 sentence about a trait such as nice, mean, smart, etc., 1 sentence about
political affiliation, 1 about singleness
Slide 10: Position (of posture) – 1 sentence such as sitting, open, closed, standing, etc., 1 sentence
using phrases such as under, in front of, close to, on top of, etc.
Slide 11: Location – 1 sentence about location of a person, 1 sentence about location of an object, 1
sentence about the location of a geographical place.
Slide 12: Action – 1 sentence using the word “dead”, 1 sentence using the word “married”, 1 sentence
using the present progressive
Slide 13: Condition – 1 sentence about a health or physical condition, 1 sentence about a changeable
state such as hot/cold
Slide 14: Emotion – 1 sentence
