In the event that the Commissioner, Secretary and Treasurer are unavailable to vote or have a conflict of interest that prevents them from voting, one additional person will be added (by order of listing within the WWLL Constitution) until a three-person quorum is available to vote. South Assignor - Vote V. Assignors Local League Assignors (North, Central, San Diego and AZ/Las Vegas) are responsible for assigning US Lacrosse rated officials to staff ‘official’ regular season games between member teams in accordance with the approved master schedule. Assignors must be approved by the applicable teams for which the assignor position represents and applicants must submit their lacrosse resume to the Commissioner if they elect to run for office or seek a consecutive term(s). Terms are for three years with each term ending at the end of the WWLL season. There is no limit in the number of terms an assignor may serve. · Term End-Date o Central: 2011, 2014, 2017, 2020 o San Diego: 2012, 2015, 2018, 2021 o North and AZ/LV: 2013, 2016, 2019, 2022 It is requested that the Commissioner get additional feedback from teams, Local Umpire Board(s) and other assignors about each applicant. VI. Dues • Amount: South Assignor Nominees: The amount of dues is to be determined at the fall WWLL meeting based on the predicted – Jan Stanke operating expenses set in the budget. The budget for the league is to be reviewed, modified, I would like to continue to act as the assigner for the WWLL in San Diego. I have held this position for and approved•by members of the league. numerous years, I believe without complaints. I would continue to make assignments based on experienced umpires with new District rated umpires, as well as mixing in strong, upcoming Local The amount is determined by identifying it the by the number teams in teams don’t see rated umpires. I do like tothe trycosts & mixand the dividing umpires & teams up, soof that the same the same umpires when possible. the league, petitioning teams excluded. Thank you the consideration. Back dues may be charged if it for is determined that the amount charged does not cover the league related expenses. This decision is to be determined by the Commissioner and the Jan Stanke Executive Committee members. Division 1 and 2 member teams are also required to pay annual WCLA member dues to US WWLL League Meeting - 2012/13Please check the WCLA Lacrosse as part of their requirement to be WCLA members. website for deadlines to ensure annual compliance. 57 Arbiter Website Primary website to check which refs are assigned to your game(s) www.arbitersports.com WWLL League Meeting - 2012/13 58 Officials / Assignors • How do I know if officials are assigned to my game? • www.arbitersports.com • It is the home team’s responsibility to ensure officials are assigned to the game • On the Arbiter web page, you can find what officials are assigned to your game (beginning in late January), their phone number and emails in case of a rainout • You can also rate the officials from your game on Arbiter • How do I get officials if none are assigned to my game or I want to find officials for a scrimmage I just organized? • Email your local assignor • How do I pay for officials? • Your local assignor can brief you on how to pay for officials in your region. • Does the assignor fee I paid with my league dues pay for my officials fees? • No, they are separate. • The assignor fee you paid with your league dues pays for your regional assignor’s time in assigning officials to your games. You still have to pay your officials for the games the officiate. Each region handles payment differently so talk to your assignor. WWLL League Meeting - 2012/13 59 Proposal North Teams Proposal: Assess a $25 fee to North Teams for payment processing of officials payment The NCWLUA invoices the college club teams for the officials and pays the officials from the monies received. This has generally made it easier for the schools and the officials. The problem is that this year and in future years the NCWLUA Treasurer has been responsible for work. There is a proposal to bill the North schools an extra $25 so that the NCWLUA Treasurer can be compensated their work. This fee is roughly equivalent for what they are paid for doing the same process for high school teams. Submitted by: Scot Mehl – North Umpire Rep WWLL League Meeting - 2012/13 60 Additional Proposals WWLL League Meeting - 2012/13 61 Code of Conduct - Proposal • Add WWLL Code of Conduct All members of the league are expected to adhere to US Lacrosse's Code of Ethics and uphold their institution's 'code of conduct' guidelines that they are obligated to operate and play within. If a team has violated their code of conduct obligations, as determined by their institution, the WWLL will acknowledge the judgment of the institution and may apply a similar disciplinary action. A common example of this policy: Division 1 "Team A" has been suspended by "University Team A" for hazing, University Team A has put Team A on probation for 1 year. As a result, Team A is no longer recognized as a club team by their institution; therefore, Team A is no longer an eligible member of the WWLL and will be placed on probation to match that determined by University Team A. The WWLL Executive Committee and or Commissioner may also review situations brought to the attention of the League, specifically illegal activities that may impact the WWLL. All members of the league, it's staff, players, coaches, affiliated individuals and organizations are obligated to comply with all applicable laws. Violations of the law will not be tolerated. It expected that it's members refrain from participating in all potential for conflicts of interest, harassment, abuse of power, and other forms of unethical behavior. Failure to do so may result in an immediate termination of affiliation.
