Natural Resources:
These resources are produced in or by the earth. They include everything in nature
such as water, fish, soil, forests, oil, etc.
Human Resources:
These resources are the people who work to create and provide goods and services,
such as teachers, pilots, dentists, drivers, rockstars, and factory workers. This can
include people who are working and people who are unemployed.

Help me REMEMBER
Natural Resources:
‘PRODUCED IN OR BY THE EARTH’
Human Resources:
‘PEOPLE CREATING GOODS AND SERVICES’
Capital Resources:
‘MAN MADE LONG TERM OBJECTS TO MAKE THE GOODS AND SERVICES’
Management Resources:
‘ABILITY TO ORGANISE ALL OF THE ABOVE AND MANAGE THEIR
INTERACTIONS’
Let’s take our definitions a bit further...
1. Draw an illustration of each of your definitions (Draw a picture that represents your resource)
2. Provide an example of each resource, for example, An example of a natural resource is……..
because……..
3. Provide a non-example of each resource, for example, A non-example of a natural resource is ……
because……..
An example of a natural resource is timber because it is made by
the earth.
A non-example of a natural resource is a house because it is
made using human resources and capital resources, as well as
being made out of a combination of economic resources.

used to manufacture a car.
Explain why you think it it better to use diagrams to show the
links between economic resources rather than to write about it.
What are some positives and negatives of using diagrams or
graphic organisers?

used to create one of the following:
