Spanish 2 Weekly Lesson Plan Cycle 4 – Week 1 Monday, 1/6 Teacher In-Service Tuesday, 1/7 Objectives: Students will learn words for emotions in Spanish. Students will review the verb estar. Learning Experiences: Empecemos: The teacher will lead the daily warm up. Estar: The teacher will review the meaning and conjugation of the verb “estar”. Mis sentimientos: Students will fill in a feelings chart to learn the words for different emotions in Spanish. Students will play a charades-type game to practice the emotions. Wednesday, 1/8 Objectives: Students will create a flip book to learn the uses of the verbs ser and estar. Learning Experiences: Empecemos: A student will lead the daily warm up. Students will complete a bell ringer about how they are feeling today. SCORND ETHEL: The teacher will review the uses of ser and estar while students follow along and create a flipbook. Yo soy…/Yo estoy…: Students will complete the sentences “Yo soy…” and “Yo estoy…” with 5 different things each. Students will share their answers with the class. Ser o estar: Students will complete a worksheet to practice the uses of ser and estar. Thursday, 1/9 Objectives: Students will learn to use the present progressive tense. Learning Experiences: Empecemos: Students will complete a bell ringer practicing when to use ser and estar. A student will lead the daily warm up. Presente progresivo: The teacher will review the meaning and formation of the present progressive. Students will add the present progressive to their flipbooks. A cambiar: Students will change verbs in sentences from the present to the present progressive. Emociones y causas: Students will write sentences about how someone is feeling and why (what someone is doing to make them feel that way). Friday, 1/10 Objectives: Students will practice using the present progressive. Students will review stem changing verbs. Learning Experiences: Empecemos: Students will complete a bell ringer about stem changers. A student will lead the daily warm up. Emociones y causas: Students will share their sentences from yesterday. Verbos de zapato: The teacher will review stem changing verbs and how –ir verbs affect the present progressive. A cambiar: Students will change sentences with stem changers from the present to the present progressive.
