we?
• Sport England funded County Sports Partnership
covering the Black Country areas of Dudley,
Sandwell, Walsall & Wolverhampton
• Key aim to increase participation in sport & physical
activity
• We fund activities, coaches, working with sports
clubs and national governing bodies of sport

What is Sportivate?
• 6 Year project (April 2011 – March 2017)
• £56 million Lottery revenue
• 296,257 (presented as 300,000) to complete weekly

coaching sessions
118,503 (presented as 120,000) to continue playing sport
regularly

• ‘Semi-sporty’ definition

What Sportivate will fund…
• Staffing to deliver projects up to £40 per hour (This is the
maximum amount that can be claimed please note that all
applications will be marked on the basis of value for money)
• Volunteers to help run projects, up to £50 per volunteer
• CRB Checks
• Resources and materials
• Hire of facilities
• Transport of participants or coaches
• Marketing and publicity
• Capital purchases of equipment to support project delivery
(suggested at 10% but up to a maximum of 20% of funding
award if justification is provided)

The BeActive Partnership is particularly interested in

Inspired Coaches
Fund
• To assist with increasing capacity within clubs and
increasing in the number of coaches and coached
hours available
• Funding is available to support coaches wishing to gain
Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 qualifications
• Coaches in receipt of funding will be required to
complete voluntary coaching hours (1 Hour for every
£10 received)

Who can apply?
• Any individual who wants to gain a National
Governing Body sports coaching qualification and
who is working with a club in the Black Country
• All applications must be made by
Clubs/Organisations, and not by individuals
• The coaches must use their qualification within the
Black Country
• Closing date: 6th December 2013

• Applications must be submitted, either before the
course has commenced, or during the award-training
period
• We can fund up to 50% of the actual course cost (not
transport or accommodation) up to a maximum of
Level 1: £100

Small Grants
• Sport England make awards of between £300 and £10,000
to not-for-profit organisations to help more people play sport
• Sport England want applications to deliver these strategic
outcomes:
• An increase in the proportion of 14-25’s playing sport
once a week
• A growth in regular (once a week) participation for all
those aged 14+
• A reduction in drop off at ages 16, 18, 21 & 24
• Growth in participation by people (aged 14+) with a
disability.
•
The fund is open all year round

Inspired Facilities
• Could help you refurbish or upgrade your sports facility
or convert an existing building into a venue suitable for
sport and accessible to the whole community
• Grants are available from £20,000 to £50,000 (up to
£150,000 for statutory bodies) for any organisation
eligible to receive Lottery funding
• The current round will close on 16 December 2013

Inclusive Sport
• Designed to increase the number of disabled young
people (aged 14+) and adults regularly playing sport as
part of Sport England’s wider commitment to increasing
regular sport participation by disabled people
• The minimum level of investment for Inclusive Sport is
set at £10,001. There is no limit set for the amount of
funding you can ask for over and above £10,001
• Round 2 of Inclusive Sport is now open to applications
and will remain so until 5pm on 2 December 2013.

Community Sport
Activation Fund
• The kind of projects Sport England will fund include:
• Activities reflecting a broad range of sports
• Informal opportunities which could lead to regular
participation
• Multi-sport activities which provide people with a range of
choices and opportunities to suit them
• Family orientated activities with a focus on the 14 plus age
group
• Local activator roles that focus on directly organising and
delivering new opportunities for participation
• Projects could be for up to three years and the grants will range
from £50,000 - £250,000
• Closing date is 27 January 2014

Get Equipped
• Sport England will fund the provision of specialist
equipment to deliver sport to disabled people
• Not-for-profit organisations can apply for between
£300 and £10,000 of Lottery funding to purchase
sports equipment that will help increase the number of
disabled young people (aged 14+) and adults regularly
playing sport
• You have until 2 December 2013 to complete your
application
