Quotes
"Forever I shall be a stranger to myself. In
psychology as in logic, there are truths but no
truth."
~ Albert Camus
“These tasks, and therefore the meaning of
life, differ from man to man, and from moment
to moment. Thus it is impossible to define the
meaning in life in a general way."
~ Viktor E. Frankl
"A first sign of the beginning of understanding
is the wish to die."
- Franz Kafka

Psychoanalytic Theory: Unconscious Inner Forces Drive Behavior
1. Amy’s therapist believes that Amy’s current relationship
difficulties stem from the unstable relationship she had with
her father
2.
Andrew is 57 years old and is an accomplished professional,
but he never feels like his work is good enough and is always
afraid that people will be unhappy with his performance. He
realizes that he might have this outlook because when he was
growing up, his father criticized everything he did. If he
brought home a test with an A+ on it, his father would
comment that Andrew must have cheated because he certainly
wasn’t smart enough to do that well on his own.
Exhibit 6 - “Persistence of Memory”
Time is the theme here, from the melting watches to the
decay implied by the swarming ants. The monstrous fleshy
creature draped across the paintings center is an
approximation of the artist’s own face in profile.
