Course Outline: Exam Schedule: There will be only one midterm exam and a final exam. Schedules of exams are Midterm: TBA Final Exam: TBA Make up Exam: TBA If you feel that you can’t take one of the exams on the scheduled day and time contact with me as soon as possible. All excused absences must have written documentation. Quizzes: There will be a quiz every week on Thursdays during the recitation hours starting the second week of the summer school. Make up policy: There is no make up for the quizzes. If you miss a test and want to make it up, you must contact with me and explain your excuse as soon as possible. If it is a health problem you must bring your doctor’s report, which is given or checked by SU Health Center, as well. In case you are unable to visit me, you, a friend or a relative should somehow (e-mail, phone, etc.) let me know about the situation. You can take only one make up test. Make up for the both exams will be on Thursday, 22 August 2013. The make up exam will be cumulative that is it will cover all the course material. Grading Policy: Your work will be evaluated and weighted as Quizzes Midterm Final Total 15% 35% 50% 100% Your letter grade will be assigned based on the standard grading scale. Incompletes: A grade I of Incomplete may be given to a student who has completed all but a very small part of the course with a passing grade, but who is prevented from completing the course by some unavoidable circumstance beyond his or her control (e.g. a medical reason). A student's desire to avoid a low grade is not a legitimate reason to award an Incomplete. Attendance and Participation: Students are recommended to attend all the classes and are responsible for the material covered during the classes. Participating the class, asking questions are strongly encouraged: these will help you to understand the material.. In class: Students are expected to behave courteously during class time: Students are NOT allowed to use cell phones, MP3 players etc.. Academic Misconduct: Students are expected to comply fully with the University's policies on academic integrity. The penalty for a student caught cheating is a course grade of F.
