Students write a paragraph incorporating at least 4 phrases/structures from the database of higher order language provided in the 32 sections available. Students select topic area and incorporate 5 complex structures/strands in writing/speaking leading to a Controlled Assessment. Students attempt 4 Higher papers, then mark using the OCR mark scheme and check grade through respective grade boundaries for that year. Students use Mots a Mots and Palabra por Palabra text guides to select at least 5 phrases/ structures to include in writing/speaking, to impress examiner. Books purchased and scanned into Public Shared and downloaded to Kindles for named students. 5 MFL assistant for French/Spanish records student speaking CA plan onto student’s phone/gadget for enhancement of accent/ pronunciation/fluency. Student loans phone/Ipad/gadget to MFL assistant for recording. 6 Read 4 past students’ writing scripts for exemplar A/A* grade. Sift out the complex language and phrases to adapt for your own writing purposes. Speak to your MFL teacher who will provide photocopies of past student scripts. Listen to 4 past students’ recorded speaking tasks at A/A*. Identify why the highest grades have been attained. What can you learn from the candidates’ ability to respond to unexpected questions? Ask your MFL teacher to direct you to the appropriate named sound file in Media Shared. Read the 4 2014 exemplar student writing samples provided by OCR which contain examiner analysis explaining why the score/grade has been awarded.
