According to Dr. Carl B Smith, by focusing on one area-vocabulary- you can Raise your IQ Boost your success in school, and Improve your job opportunities in the future Therefore, building my students vocabulary has become the most concrete means by which I am determined to improve their ability to express themselves clearly in Science and Social Studies. By sharpening their vocabulary they will gain control over these Subjects. Each week or every other week students will take a vocabulary test. However, please do not allow students to simply memorize words. Please make sure they can give you a real life example of the word. The questions will come from any word they have had this year. They should be able to give an example of all words in the following categories: Inquiry and all parts of physical Science. I will give you a list of vocabulary and the year’s list will be placed on my website. Please study with your kids.
