This Week:
We are practicing subtraction with renaming.
(borrowing back in our day) This is a hard concept for
the students to get so we will continue working on it for
the next couple weeks. We also finished up our
spooky stories and wrote silly epitaphs. In reading, we
read “Zipping, Zapping, Zooming” and learned about
bats.

Next week:
We will continue subtraction as well as our 8 step
problem solving. We will write descriptive paragraphs.
We will also work on reading fluency and
comprehension as always. We will set 2nd quarter
reading counts goals. There will not be a spelling test
next week. Our test over list 9 will be Oct. 29. I look
forward to meeting with all of you at parent/teacher
conferences Thursday. We will have early dismissal
Thursday will be off school Friday.
