“The Good Deed” Vocabulary Directions: Use each word in an original sentence. Your sentences need to contain details and thoughts to prove that you understand the meaning of each word. Therefore, you may actually need to write several sentences for a vocabulary word in order to show that you understand how to use it properly. Write your sentences on a separate piece of paper. 1. impaired (adj)- being in a less than perfect condition; weakened or damaged 2. generic (adj)- having no particularly distinctive or noteworthy quality 3. pert (adj)- offensively bold in behavior; saucy 4. trite (adj)- boring because overused; not fresh or original 5. accusation (n)- the act of charging someone with wrongdoing 6. incredibly (adv)- unbelievable Turn Page DIRECTIONS: Use each word in your own original sentence. Ex. doleful means sad Bad=== The little boy was doleful. The reader cannot tell if the boy was tall, funny, happy, etc. Better but not great=== The little boy was doleful when his dad died. The reader cannot tell with certainty whether or not the boy was happy or sad. Awesome== The little boy was doleful when his dad died. He pouted and cried everyday. The reader can definitely tell that the boy is sad (not happy) because he pouted and cried. Pouted and cried are clues.
