“The Good Deed” Vocab. Words

DIRECTIONS:
1. Study the definitions.
2. Then on a separate piece of paper show that you understand the meaning of each
word by using the words in a sentence(s).
3. Be sure to number your work according to the numbers below.
4. A minimum of six words must be used in your sentence to prove that you
understand the meaning of each vocab. word. You may even need to write more
than one sentence to show that you understand the meaning of the word.
5. These words will be on the test.

DIRECTIONS: Use each word in your own original sentence. Each sentence must contain
enough information to prove that you understand the meaning of the word. Sometimes you
may need to have more than one sentence for a word in order to show that you understand
the meaning of the word.
Here is an example for you to use as a guideline.
Ex. doleful means sad 
Bad=== The little boy was doleful.
The reader cannot tell if the boy was tall, funny, happy, etc.
Better but not great=== The little boy was doleful when his dad died.
The reader cannot tell with certainty whether or not the boy was happy or sad.
Awesome== The little boy was doleful when his dad died. He pouted and cried
everyday.
The reader can definitely tell that the boy is sad (not happy) because he pouted and
cried. Pouted and cried are clues.
