Course Description
World Geography B is the second course in a two-semester series that examines a
broad range of geographical perspectives. Students will study each region using a
similar structure in order to analyze the similarities and differences between each
region. Students will understand the meaning of geography through in-depth exploration
of Eastern Europe and Russia, East Asia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific cultures,
Africa, and India and the Middle East. The themes of geography (location, place,
human-environmental interaction, movement, and region) will guide the exploration of
each region.
Course Objectives
When you finish this course, you will be able to:
 Demonstrate an understanding of geography and its definition
 Describe and compare the landforms, climates, population, culture, and economic
characteristics of places and regions in Eastern Europe and Russia
 Describe and compare the landforms, climates, population, culture, and economic
characteristics of places and regions in East Asia
 Describe and compare the landforms, climates, population, culture, and economic
characteristics of places and regions in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Cultures
 Describe and compare the landforms, climates, population, culture, and economic
characteristics of places and regions in Africa
 Describe and compare the landforms, climates, population, culture, and economic
characteristics of places and regions in India and the Middle East
