5. Overall mission statement of agency/ program: We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a
fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
6. Summary of the responsibilities the students will have:
 Update coaches’ training materials, program calendars, and parent information packets.
 Coordinate confirmed coaches’ CPR/First Aid training, background checks, training attendance.
 Assemble coaches’ boxes, curriculum supplies, and snacks for coaches’ training.
 Coordinate season registration, compile final registration data, and order program t-shirts.
 Schedule locations for coaches’ training(s)/meetings, running buddy orientation(s).
 Assist in leading Coaches’ trainings(s)/meetings, running buddy orientations(s).
 Coach a Girls on the Run team.
 Substitute for coaches as needed and available.
 Participate in GOTR 5K planning committee.
 Participate in planning for Sneaker Soiree.
 Coordinate running buddy program to support program participants.
 Obtain and report on program evaluation data from participants, parent, site coordinators, and
coaches.
 Assist in the development of grant proposals.
 Assist with volunteer appreciation event.
 Complete season data reporting for GOTRI.
 Help maintain social media sites.
 Other responsibilities as assigned by Council Director.
7. Skills/traits which students should already have in order to be successful at this site:
 Enrolled in an undergraduate education program requiring internship experience in a related field.
 Excellent project management, communication, collaboration, and team participation skills.
 Outstanding relationship building skills and the ability to quickly engage potential and current
volunteers.
 Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work under time constraints.
 Understands and embraces diversity and inclusiveness in thoughts, words and actions.
 Understands and embraces a healthy lifestyle in thoughts, words and actions.
 Proficiency using data collection instruments (Excel), word processing, email, and social media.
 Ability to complete administrative tasks from a home office.
 Ability to lift 35-lb boxes of supplies, materials, etc. to waist level.
