Each of the groups from Thursday’s class will stand in front of the class and present their summaries of the testimony. Bob Ewell’s testimony, p 170-178 Mayella’s testimony, p. 178-189 Tom Robinson’s testimony, p. 190-199 Atticus’ Summation, p. 199-206 What do we get from each piece of testimony? How does this fit into the puzzle of the trial? What does it say about each character? One person from each of the listening groups will be selected at the end of each presentation to summarize the main points. Groups will be assigned in 3s. Each group will receive a task sheet and brief page. The task is to write a 1 page brief of the evidence in the Tom Robinson Trial. Formative – did students understand the chapter? Mock Trial information 45 min Brief summaries 20 min Success Criteria: Plenary: Unit: To Kill A Mockingbird Groups will list the evidence on the board and decide which is enough to indict – act as a grand jury. Each group will give their briefs in turn and the class as a whole will vote as a Grand Jury. All students will gain an understanding of the trial as a whole and how each piece of testimony creates an integral part of the story. Summary of trial as a whole: Was the trial fair?
