Revisions to HED will have a slight impact on IV
therapy team workflow:

New focus to reduce time spent on patient
documentation; emphasis on strictly charting by
exception
Different tabs to access with modified display
Slightly different documentation fields to complete
No changes to IV therapy request forms or dashboard
What is Changing?
1. New tabs - IV therapy nurses will primarily
document in ASSESSMENT & INTERVENTION tabs
2. New subheading in the menu bar labeled “Lines”
3. Links to start IV lines grouped together

Other things to consider…
• During the transition period from old to
new documentation fields; to see data
documented in previous fields click on
“Chart” and select from the dropdown
menu. All totally capitalized words in
bottom right are new documentation
tabs.
• Documentation charting times will collapse to the closest
hour in review mode.
