The Owen equation estimated my necessary kilocalorie requirement to be 1226.63 kilocalories. However, when assessing my caloric needs using the Diabetic Exchange List, the Mifflin St. Jeor predicted my caloric requirements best, with a calculation of 1076.89. While assessing my caloric intake using several equations to predict the necessary amount of kilocalories to maintain my weight, I was able to establish a range between 1076.89 kilocalories to 1374.38 kilocalories. This demonstrated a 297.49 kilocalorie difference between all equations. Diet Analysis Plus calculated my 24- hour recall caloric intake to be 1219 k calories while the Caloric exchange list estimated my 24- hour recall intake to be 990 kilocalories.
