Title: Brisingr
Author: Christopher Paolini
Genre: Adventure/mystery
Plot: Eragon and Saphira resume their training with Oromis and Glaedr. A while
later the dwarves need to choose a new king as soon as possible. Eragon helps
with this by being attacked so the felt sorry and voted for his dwarf halfbrother. Eragon and Saphira soon resume their training. Eragon gets a new
riders sword made from brightsteel. He named it Brisingr, which in the ancient
language means fire. When he says Brisingr, while holding the sword, it catches
on fire. Glaedr gives Sapira and Eragon his heart of hearts. With that, they can
communicate with him from anywhere in Alagaesia. It also means they can
give their strength to one another. Oromis and Glaedr fight Murtagh and Thorn
who are rider and dragon and are under Galbatorix’s control. Oromis gets
killed, so Glaedr decides to enter the void. The varden take control of Fienster
with Eragon and Saphira’s help.
Response: This is the third book in the Eragon series. I enjoyed all 748 pages of
this book. It has taken me 2 months to read it. It is a fantasy story between
good and evil.
Character Traits: Eragon-rider of Saphira and only free dragon rider in
Alagaesia. Saphira-Eragons dragon, only free dragon in alagaesia. Oromis and
Glaedr-Eragon and Saphira’s trainers, dragon and rider. Nasuada-leader of the
varden. Islanzadi-the elf queen. Arya-queen Izlanzadi’s daughter.
Recommendation: I really like this series as it has lots of fighting between good
and evil. I can’t wait to read the 4th and final book in this series called
Inheritance. This book would be great for anyone who enjoys fantasy and can
read well as the book is rather large and take a while. For ages 11+, if you’re a
good reader
