GRANTS FOR COMMUNITY: SELECTION CRITERIA GRANTS FOR COMMUNITY: SELECTION CRITERIA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT Project Outcomes What Council expects to be the long term benefits of the project More resilient, healthy and active communities; Increased levels of volunteering and engagement in community life; Development of skills and capacity in community organisations; Delivered innovative responses to community issues; Local knowledge and insights harnessed; Strengthened partnerships, including with Council; and Encouraged funding from other sources into Yarra Ranges. Selection Criteria The Assessment Panel will look at how strongly projects address the following criteria Community Development Selection Criteria Project merit The project or activity (What benefit does Responds to local needs the project deliver Uses community assets (strengths) to the community of Yarra Ranges?) Budget (What resources are required and where will they come from?) Capacity to carry out what is being proposed, including experience, governance, people and resources A well developed project plan which can be implemented in the timeframe A well developed budget with clear income and expenditure items identified The budget makes sense and is well documented (i.e. clearly outlines income and expenditure) The project is achievable within the proposed budget The project has funding and/or in-kind support from other sources and includes a contribution (in-kind or financial) from the applicant Page 2 of 2 Grants for Community 2015: Selection Criteria: Community Development
