Fort Lauderdale – July 17, 2014 The Museum of Discovery and Science’s Leonardo da Vinci Society, in partnership with FPL, presents Code Baby Code featuring the inspirational Felecia Hatcher, White House Honoree for the 2014 Champion of Change for STEM Access & Diversity on July 24, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Museum of Discovery and Science. “FPL is proud to partner with the Museum of Discovery & Science and appreciates the opportunity to support enlightening programs that make a difference in the communities we serve. We salute Felicia Hatcher, a White House honoree for the 2014 Champion of Change for STEM Access & Diversity. Guest will be treated to cocktails, soft drinks and hors d’oeurves, a presentation on coding by Felecia Hatcher and then close out the evening with an IMAX experience of Island of Lemurs: Madgascar 3D. The film is narrated by Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman. Felecia Hatcher has dedicated her life to turning kids and young adults from undeserved communities into entrepreneurs and exposing them to careers and entrepreneurial opportunities in technology through her program ‘Code Fever.’ The initiative helps to increase technological entrepreneurship funding and training to underserved Florida communities. Hatcher has been featured on the NBC Today Show, The Cooking Channel, and Grio’s 100 African American’s Making History for her wildly successful company Feverish Ice Cream & Gourmet Pops where she serves as the “Chief Popsicle”.
